    Re: 4 years!!!

Hang in there. I'm 3 years post op and have gained about 20 pounds. Just got refocused 7 days ago. Cut the carbs down to 25, upped the protein to 60-80 grams. First week I'm down 3 pounds. Stay...

    Re: VSG BMI under 30

Don't worry about losing too much weight. I had the surgery 3 years ago with a 29 BMI. You will lose the right amount of weight. For me it was just about 52 pounds. It still took some time. The...

    Re: Calories, carbs & protein

I'm five months post-op. I get between 850-1200 calories per day. This includes 60-80 grams of protein and less than 45 grams of carbs. Hope this helps!
  4. Re: 7 months post - update - the good the bad ie the protein the carbs!

Thank you so much. I really need to hear this today. Be blessed!

    Re: Bmi 31

Had surgery on October 27th. Started the journey in September at 192. Today I'm 156 and happier than I can ever remember being. The weight loss is slow but very steady. Best decision I ever made!

Re: Doubts, having a hard time, pre-op..

Hi Rebecca. I am a lot older than you are (48) but I was also a heavy teen. I know what you're feeling. I've been there. But I will tell you this, life gets so much better if you just keep moving...

    Re: Should I or shouldn't I

I had the same question. By the time I was sleeved I weighed in at 173 pounds, which some say is not worth it. I went through with it because quite honestly, I knew I would not be able to keep the...
  10. Re: I just do not agree with the "Going Cold Turkey" advice that is given by some sleevers

Never is a long time!!! I absolutely agree. My nutritionist says as long as I get in the 60-80 grams of protein, I can eat anything I want. I'm only a month post-op so I don't know what I can...

Re: 80 percent sure I'm going to go for it

I was sleeved on 10/27. I was so afraid I wouldn't be able to get through the process but I did. I've lost 30 pounds since starting the process. I'm completely free of all diabetes and blood...

    Re: Pre Op Diet

I'm a week into my pre-op diet and have 2-3 shakes and one meal consisting of 3 oz of protein and up to 2 cups of green veggies. It's been tough but I'm so excited at the changes my body is making. ...

    Re: The "S" word!

Shame is something everyone has about something. Don't sweat it. You don't have to say anything until you're ready. Take the time to do what you need to do in order to complete the journey, one...
