I started protein shakes is the hospital. He should multiply his weight x .3 to get his daily protein needs. Exampke: 300 x .3 = 90 grams protein. 2% is better than skim....greek yogurt good also.

My surgeon is Dr Jan at Good Sam. I am heading there now to make sure it gets sent TODAY!! I am so glad I called insurance to follow up.....could have been an even longer wait. Positive thoughts :)

Thanks for the support :) Turns out that the surgeon's assistant never actually sent the paperwork to BCBS. Trying to hold back my anger and rechannel it into something healthy....like a long walk...

I called insurance to check on my approval but was told they haven't received any request from surgeon. Ugh! Surgeon's office told me it was sent almost two weeks ago. Huge emotional breakdown...
