  1. Re: Newbie, Starting the Gastric Sleeve Process

I also have United Health Care through my work. With my policy I have to do 6 months of dietary classes. See the psycologist. But with my doc, I only had to talk to her for about 10 mins. Have a 5...
  2. Re: One month followup and doctor concerned about thyroid.

Congrats on your surgery. Have they checked your kidneys? My fiance is in end stage renal failure and they have to watch his thyroid panel too. He has to take binders (which help bind potassium and...

Re: Lets talk about " acid reflux"

I don't know if you can post op, but I use a 1/2 teaspoon of vinegar and it works for me. I can't breathe for a second or two, LOL, but it's ok.

    Re: Pre-Operative Class

I had my third class today and I've been there before anyone the last two times. I'm just so ready to get these over with and get my date. If my insurance ok's it of course.

    Re: I need help!

I hope my Doc tells me more on my fifth visit (when I need to have the majority of my criteria done), but the paperwork I have gotten just says a clear liquid diet 3 days before surgery.
  8. Re: Anyone else going to the poorhouse buying clothes?

You could always get them tailored too. I don't know how much it is to get clothes altered but it would probably save you from having to buy a whole new waredrobe.

    Re: Finally got Started

No, I don't like my picture taken because of my size. It just makes me sad when I see pictures of myself.

Re: I think I have hit my bottom :/

I know how you feel. I fly to Arizona this October. It's not a big commercial plane either. I don't know what's going to happen and I'm worried.

I also have the same insurance. Now I'm getting a little worried. LOL
  13. Re: Read a very distressing comment about gastric surgery.

I was wondering about donating organs. My fiance is in renal failure now (but it's not the reason I want the surgery) and I was wondering if I was able to donate one if he did not get one by the time...

    Re: The Biggest Loser Ranch

My dentist suggested it too. I can not afford to be off work that long (without it being a medical leave). And I could not stand for anyone yelling at me while I tried my best during exercise. I do...

Re: How long before your back to work?

Post-op weight restriction (for gall bladder surgery) was like 5 to 8 pounds for 2 weeks. You have to watch the opening sites. They are just steri-stripped and stiched up and any tugging can open...
