Hello all,
The title says it all. It has been 1 year since my sleeve. I have learned so much from everyone here that I just wanted to post my own update.
I weighed 315 when I joined the program...
Excellent post, thanks for sharing.
If you cant tolerate the shake, try isopure in the clear liquid form. It will give you the 50 to 100 grams of protein a day. Also it can replace the water you have to take anyways. I use to drink a...
Everything in moderation... Im about to hit the 1 year mark being sleeved. I have lost over 100 pounds and I feel great. Through trial and error I have learned that I can pretty much eat or drink...
The little things will get even better with the further weight loss you will experience. Not being so self conscious is awesome.
They sell isopure in clear liquid form as well. In case you cant tolerate the shake. In regards to adding milk or water that depends on your tolerance for milk. I personally dont use milk. But you...
Its going to get even better. The more you lose, the more you will want to keep going. I remember the first time I could sit down and not worry about squeezing in to a booth(almost cried). My waist...
I dont consider that bad... Its more about managing your intake. I know if I want to go out with the wife or friends I will limit my calorie intake so I can take the hit I get from drinking a few...
I know how you feel. I went from a size 52w to a size 36w. It messes with your mind quite a bit.
I use, All Things Food and Diet - FatSecret web and android app. Its a godsend for tracking calorie intake.
I would take the family bowling, but... I would hold off doing any bowling what so ever. You may feel great but your body is still adjusting to the surgery and you wouldn't want to give yourself a...
Unfortunately you are in the beginning stages of your sleeve. Your body is in shock and still getting adjusted to the new you. So dont expect to be able to run a marathon anytime soon but... You wil...
Have you tried liquid protein(isopure). I found out that I couldnt tolerate the shake(powder) that well in the beginning. Once I switched I easily met my goal.
Congrats on your surgery. Im amazed how quickly you are able to start low impact cardio. I was scared to do anything in the beginning myself. It was painfull. Keep it up. :)
First and foremost, dont let others get you down... You just had the sleeve and it WILL take time for you to get back to eating solid food and what not. It took me months before I could eat anything...
Keep us updated. You wont regret it.
You can drink, but... with precautions. I could not tolerate beer until at least 4 months out. Then ONLY when I let it sit open so the carbonation wouldnt hit me like a punch to the gut. Its a give...
Sleeve is not the end all for weight loss. It requires dedication to keep it off. I know I will always have to watch what I eat. But thats something I can learn to live with.
She will come around. Its probably just her way to cope with the new you. Ive lost close to 100 pounds since my surgery and my wife has been supportive but my daily habits are annoying to her, i.e....
Jade,
It is covered under FSA. I just had my Dr fill out a prescription for me with multiple refills. Here is a link of the company who handles the FSA for my employer -...
This is excellent advice. I found out my own insurance (Kasier) will cover the excess skin removal after 1 year of steady weight loss with a medical need. Also I have been docuementing rashes too. Im...
You are correct, you dont need FSA, you could submit reciepts to your accountant and do the long form. All I'm saying is that you get credited IMMEADIATELY with FSA. I dont have to worry about...
Keep your head up. It will get better. Make sure you have your support structure set up in advance. You will need people to lean on once you have had the procedure done. Also, there are tons of...
Hello all,
My apologies if this has been discussed in the past. I'd like to point out to everyone here that if you are planning this surgery or have already taken the plunge. Make sure that if...
I agree with you.
