Janise,
I can tell you for a fact that it's not true. I'm post menopausal. In fact I'll be 60 tomorrow. I started this journey at 230, and I'm almost 8 months out now, and I've lost 76 lbs. I...
I also have a lot of gas. I've been told that sometimes after this surgery some people are lactose intolerant and that that could be the issue. I'm not ready to give up milk and cheese products, so...
I'm 6 months out, and I too am always hungry, especially at night.
I don't exactly have a medic alert. But after the surgery the weight loss center sent me an ID card to carry in my wallet with my insurance card that identifies me as having had a VSG.
There are many different pre-op requirements. Mine was 10 days of 4 protein shakes, one fruit, and one vegetable, each day. So you can't really go by what others tell you, you have to go by what...
I could have peanut butter at 2 weeks
Terrie, I can't say I have any advice, but I do understand what you are going through. I too feel like this is a diet. I too am hungry all the time. And I find that although I get pains if I try...
I was told I can take Advil.
I think about that too. I know I can eat whatever I want now but with protein first there is no room for salad. I'm 4 months out and haven't had salad once and I do miss it. I'm hoping in time I'll...
I get an email notification every time someone posts on a thread that I posted on, or if I get a welcome, or a like. Whatever it is, I get an email.
It's not just men, I too no longer have to get up at night and I'm drinking much more than pre-sleeve! Awesome side effect.
Since my surgery on July 7, I have only vomited once. And it was when I ate salmon. Haven't tried it again since. But I hope to again as it is my favorite fish, just haven't had the courage yet.
I too cannot take pain meds. In the hospital I was given anti nauseous meds before the IV pain meds and that seemed to work okay. At home I took only liguid Tylenol and that was enough.
Go to the tab that says "ticker".
So sorry to hear. Sending prayers.
I was told the same, 2 weeks to use the pool.
I'm from Boston, too. Just north of the city. Best wishes on your surgery on next Monday.
I see the nurse practioner in one week to remove the staples. I see the nutritionist in two weeks. And I see the surgeon at one month. I agree it's all different for everyone.
My doctor said one week. I think to be sure I can get to my first follow up visit.
Welcome! For me, it was one year from when I first met with the surgeon until my surgery date (which is in 5 days). So that gave me lots of time to think about what I was doing. I'm still...
Thanks so much!
Hi all,
This is my first post but I've been reading here for awhile now. I'm so glad I found this, everything I've read has been so informative and so helpful and calming. This has been a very...
