    Hey Stacy,
How are you doing? Haven't talked to you in awhile. I am 2 months out and have lost 36 lbs. I want to loose more. I haven't been doing well with my protein and fluids, I don't feel like I am going to reach my goal. Any suggestions?
  2. Hey Stacy, I was just saying hello and checking to see how you are doing. Any new photos, also wondering how you avoided losing more weight? Of course I'm not there yet Lol, just preparing myself. I don't want to weigh less than 155...

Things are getting a lot better. I think I started eating too fast, but I'm ok. I see the inches coming off, but havent lost anymore weight. Think I am stalling right now. I called the dietician and she said I wasn't going to see her until November or December, when I'm eating more solid foods. I still need to get my fluids in more and protein too. But all in all, I';m good. Thanks for checking on me. Talk to you soon.

Thanks Stacy, I really thought I was doing bad. I'm going to start drinking water before I make it to work in the morning. I eat breakfast at work, so that should be good. I pre plan my meals at night so that has been a big help. I wont panic, I know it will become easier as time goes on. I found a Cookies and Cream protein shake at GNC which is really good. It has 60 grams of protein in 12 oz of water. I haven't made that much yet. Just used 1 scoop instead of 3 which is 20 grams of protein. Thaanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate it. Talk to you soon. Have a blessed week.

Stacy, How are you doing? I have a bit of a struggle. Dr. Mun has me on Stage 3, I feel like I'm eating food. I think I'm not doing things right. I'm trying to drink, but not enough. I feel like I am failing myself. I started work yesterday and it went good. I was tired at the end of the day. I only was able to drink 1 protein shake at work and 1 bottle of water. I had 1 oz cottage cheese for breakfast, 2 oz. this gulosh stuff I made with vegatables, potatoes and ground turkey, 2 oz than for dinner I ate the same thing, and had 4 oz. crystal light for juice. I don't think that was enough protein. Oh yeah, I had some Greek yogurt in the afternoon before going home and string cheese. What do you think? Is that too much food?

    Stacy,
Appointment went great. Dr. Mun was very pleased with my progress. He moved me to Stage 3, So here goes the puree stage and soft foods. Any suggestions on how to get the most protein out of food. He wants me to get most of the protein from food and not so much the shakes. I like the shakes though. I have to get in 90 g he said. Do you eat flavored cottage cheese or just plain. I tried the Greek yogurt today and I wasn't pleased. Any suggestions on how to hook that up? Hope your week went well. Sending Blessing your way.

OK, so I can expect the hair thinning. I will get the vitamins to combat tht before it gets out of hand. I can't afford my hair to thin, It already started the older I get. I'm going to ask for th e B12 shot every month, I'm really not a pill taker. So I expect a little bit of struggle with all these vitamins. I have an appointment with Dr. Mun on Friday so we will see how much weight loss as happened. I'm nervous but excited. I see it in my face, btu my belly is sooo swollen still. How long do I take the B1? I'm taking the Iron already, so I just continued that. I'm going to start walking as soon as I'm cleared to do some exercise walking. I really want this weight off. YOu are an inspiration. Thanks for being a help to me. By the way, Today was a good day! Pain meds only taken right now before bed.
  9. Hi Stacy!

    Thanks Stacy,
I am grateful. I will start when I am 6 weeks out as well. I don't think the pain will last much longer, maybe soreness for a couple more weeks. I only take the pain meds at night before bed. How is your vitamin intake? Has your hair been affected? I see that posted a lot on here. I know I am asking some personal questions, I just want to know what to expect and avoid to be successful. I want to loose 85 lbs in 8 months too. lol!!

    Hi Stacyj4,
Thank you for reaching out. I am happy you did. Everything is going ok. I have been in more pain than I thought. I had a lab band removed and the sleeve done. Plus a hernia repair. Dr. Mun is great, very strict. I need that. Hopefully you can help be a support for me. Thanks again for reaching out.

Hey there! I am doing good, still struggling with getting my max protein and water in but I'm trying hard so I don't feel lightheaded and fatigued. Other than that the pain is not noticeable anymore only if I try to lay on my side and I'm not as bloated but still somewhat. Thanks for checking in on me. I need all the help I can get.

100 pounds gone forever

by Stacyj4 on 05-07-2012 at 12:33 PM
I am 4 and a half months post op. I started started options classes with Kaiser at 270 pounds. It was an indescribable feeling to get on the scale and see 169. I am so proud of myself. I exercise 4 days a week and I am still making better good choices then I have in the past. I wouldn't change anything. I am so happy with the healthier me.

This month has definitely flown by. I am feeling great. I got rid of 21 pounds since surgery. It feels good when people notice and give me compliments. I am happy with my decision. I had an easy recovery. I started taking long walks last week. This week alone I walked 10 miles. I'm sore as hell. But a good kida of sore. I'm so happy I decided to put me first for a change.
