71/2 months out. Good and bad?

by Lorikeet on 07-03-2012 at 06:22 AM
So I had my gastric sleeve almost excitedly 7 1/2 months ago. My top weight was 105 kilos or 235 pounds at 5'7". My hope was to make it to 160 pounds at the outset. I lost 16 pounds pre-op and had no complications with surgery. Average pain and a lot of stomach grumbling afterwards. Thought those grumblings meant hunger, but that was my head talking, not my belly. I have always been pretty diligent with the protein as I worried about hair loss.( have had some hair loss since about the 6 month

Wasting Away?!

by Lorikeet on 05-01-2012 at 09:28 PM
I am about 5 1/2 months out of surgery. I have lost 92 pounds(15 inches from my waist). I have gone from a size 20 on top to an 8 and from a size 20 bottom to a 6. I feel fantastic. I have 2 protein shakes a day, and one meal (usually protein and a salad) and often a couple of glasses of wine if i feel like it. I exercise quite a bit. I walk or run 10K a day and play soccer 4 times a week. i have said this before, but the exercise just gets better and easier. My original goal was 145 pounds at

by Lorikeet on 04-25-2012 at 08:55 PM
Can't resist a bit of a boast, but i am so happy to have reached my goal. I have lost 91 pounds! I started at 5'8" and 235 pounds and am now 144 pounds. I feel great. Not sure where to go from here. May lose a few more just for the fun of it I exercise everyday, but its a pleasure. Long walks with my dog and soccer four days a week. i drink 2 protein shakes a day and then have a delicious dinner of chicken or fish and salad or veg. I enjoy wine most evenings. I avoid sugar and carbs (at least

Are you missing a good bowl of angel hair pasta with garlic and prawns or a nice bowl of bolognese?

by Lorikeet on 03-29-2012 at 07:15 PM
The other day my friend asked me for a ride to the grocery store. She said her mother-in -law told her about something called Slimpasta and she wanted to get some. I needed a few things as well so we roadtripped over to the Woolworths a few neighborhoods over. I left her to track down the "slimpasta" (Really how slim could it be thought me the skeptic?) Anyway, 20 minutes and several store personnel later, she found what she was looking for and brought it over to show me. It comes in angel

Well its been four and 1/2 months since I had my surgery and I am very happy with my progress. I have lost 80 pounds and am 10 pounds away from my goal weight (145 and 5'7") i walk my dog about 10 K a day and now play soccer for the womens over 35 team 4 times a week. Exercising has become a pleasure and something I look forward to rather than dreading. (I have always enjoyed fresh air, just not exertion I usually have 2 protein shakes a day and one proper meal, either lunch or dinner. I
