Congrats on your progress. How are you coming along. At 2.5 years out, I'm finding the hardest part is maintaining but I continue to work hard. I can now eat more at least a small saucer of food. I have to strive to make good choices. I've worked too hard to get to this point. Just sending you words of encouragement. I tell myself that eating the junk food does not make me nearly as happy as being healthy feels.

Hi there! My weight ticker might be misleading, MamDukes22. I weighed 217 when I started a 6-month pre-op diet under my surgeon's supervision. I lost 17 lbs during those six months. I then lost another 8 during the two week pre-op diet. On day of surgery I weighed 196, meaning, I've lost a total of 21lbs post-op, LESS than you!

It's all quite different for everyone. I knew I'd be a "slower loser' because I came into surgery with a high lean body mass (117lbs out of 196 to be exact). At 5'2", that's proof I will never weigh 120lbs! I also probably eat more than most at this stage because I'm into long-distance endurance events (was pre-op as well). I'm averaging 80gr protein, 60 oz. water and about 950 calories daily. My medical team wants me at 92gr of protein daily due to my exercise/fitness goals. I ride my bike about 60 miles a week (was over 100 pre-op), run 2 miles ~3xweek, and ride my horse 1-2 days a week. I'll be starting weights and foregoing some of my beloved cardio here at the end of August. I'm almost 39 years old - that may make a difference too.

I'd say you're losing really well! I'm in my first stall; haven't lost a pound in almost three weeks, but hanging in there trying to be patient.
