  1. Well, here I am again...... to recap Starting weight 223, Pre-liquid diet 216, Surgery date 204, 4 weeks Post Op 195..... 11 weeks post op 190. Total loss 33 lbs. I had stalled but now I seem to have started losing again. I think the day I wake up in the 180's I will be really excited because the 190's have taken forever to come off. I don't see the change - some people make comments others don't so its hard to say. I did need new bra's though - went from a C to a B.... my belly is still there and my metabolisim is ultra slow (thanks Mom) but I will continue on. Hoping that by the time I see my parents for Thanksgiving I'm a 180 something.... I guess if it takes a year to get to my goal of 150 than so be it..... I didn't get fat overnight right?
  2. One month post op visit done! Still stalled at 195 - cleared to exercise so with that I hope the next time I go see Dr. in 7 weeks I have had more loss....
  3. Maybe its just me - but I'm stalled at 196 WTF!!!! Been here for a week and I'm depressed.... totally bummed - I though it was supposed to be easier. HELP!

I am glad to hear you lived through it. I don't know why I didn't see this message until today when I just happened to click on your picture?
I have my surgery on Oct 14-have to wait until I have the vacation time accrued AND the cash!!
I see this message is from 8-8...eight days ago. I hope you are feeling even better and have lost more! I will check out your profile.
    Keep in touch!
  5. Well, I did live so that's the good side! It was much more painful than I had thought it would be. I am exactly 2 weeks post-op today..... I started before my 2 week liquid diet at 216 at surgery I was 205 - at one week post op I was at 199. So six whopping pounds since surgery - disappointed! I don't feel thinner and am hoping that the weight starts to come off soon..... I don't return to the dr till Aug 26th. I hope something comes off by then.

Msvetrn - did you have the surgery? Thanks for the hair comment - hoping I dont lose my hair!

  11. I'm half way through my liquid diet and trying sooo hard to do it with a smile on my face - not always as easy as it should be. My surgery is July 25th - 6 days away WOOT! January I was 223 - at my pre op visit I was 216 - weighed myself today - 208. I have all my meds, my blood pressure machine, my breathing machine, all the stuff i need for the hospital. I've got my auth from insurance, clearance from my PCP. Mentally, I'm ready to do this! I just need to get through this week - UGH!!!!! Come on Sunday night!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the board and congratulations on your decision to have the gastric sleeve.

I have a few suggestions. For a clear protein, I suggest Protica Profect 50. It is a whopping 50 grams of protein in a 3.2 oz vial Protica - Detail

For a really great tasting protein powder, I suggest Max Protein. You can purchase at GNC or online. SEI Pharmaceuticals

To keep track of your calorie intake and measurements and weight. FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal This is really useful when you think you've stalled on your weight loss. You can look at what you actually measure!

This blog - theworldaccordingtoeggface She posts some great recipe's and suggestions.

I was on clear liquids for a week, full liquids for another week, puree'd foods for a week, soft foods for a week and then slowly moved on to regular foods while still including the previous foods into my daily food intake. Just don't get ahead of yourself. Take small sips and then small bites. Don't be in a big hurry to eat whatever you want.

In the forum check out this section for suggestions: Gastric Sleeve Diet, Recipes, and Nutrition
Keep a positive attitude and you will do great!
