Well, the time has come. My surgery is Tuesday. I am really looking forward to being on the other side of surgery and starting this way of life. Any words of wisdom or advice would be appreciated.

Rara, I forgot to mention that I was thrilled with Norton Suburban....nothing to do with Dr. Allen....just didn't think the nurses were as aware as they should have been.

Rara, Dr. Allen doesn't have a lot of bedside manner....he's all business and I think that rubs some people the wrong way. He doesn't do small talk and you need to have your questions ready because if you pause, he's moving on. I liked that he didn't give a lot of restrictions....told me everyone is different and I needed to find what works for me. He does recommend staying away from yogurt which is different than a lot of doctors, but I don't like yogurt so it didn't bother me at all. My surgery was great....I had little pain.....my incisions healed easily .....and he worked with me for weeks to control the nausea....tried lots of different things. One thing I really liked was that he apparently insists on private rooms during your stay. That was heaven! Feel free to ask more questions if this doesn't tell you what you need to know.
