  1. 75 pounds is amazing!!!!! Keep up the good work, Im very proud of you
  2. Hi Kim:
I am so very excited - I can hardly wait. I was just called by the hospital - and my surgery is scheduled for 8:30 tomorrow morning.

I cannot believe that soon I will be on the other side of my future. I am thinking of the Wizard of Oz how Dorothy opens the door to Munchkin land and everything is different and new to her. This is how I feel - when I open the door to a new, healthier and hopefully much skinnier me - I will be in a new land that I can only imagine at this moment. I am so glad that I made this decision. I only wish I had done this years ago.
Thank you so much for caring - it is nice to know that people who have been there before are taking the time to wish me luck, knowing what lies ahead - both the good and the bad. I am sure the next few days are going to be rough - but after that ...
Have a wonderful week ahead and see you on the other side.
    Hugs,
    Kathy
  3. Just checking in to see how you are doing

Hey lady. How are you doing?
  5. Hi Kim:
Is your group 300+ still a working group? I didn't see any recent posts on it.
My surgery is scheduled for the 11th of Feb., and unfortunately I would fit into this group.
    Have a great week ahead.

Kim my holidays were lovely. Got to spend a lot of time with my family and daughters. My pre op begins this Monday which is leaving me with a bit of anxiety. I'm nervous about not being able to do it. I still have to find something on the list that I'll be able to drink without breaking the bank. What did you drink for your preop???

Hi Kim. I feel great and everything seems to be working well. I would definitely recommend the Dominican. We have been there 3 times . Twice to Puta Cana and this year in Puerto Plata. Puta Cana has amazing white, powder soft beaches and has my favourite resort "Paradisus Puta Cana" Look it up ! Best trip. amazing accommodations and staff, great Latin Music, the spa is more that amazing. More than just a spa. I LOVED it and want to go back there someday. What to go with me ?? Puerto Plata has amazing mountain views and a coral beach line that you can snorkel right outside your door. I went Zip-lining for the first time there and the view was spectacular. We were at the Rui Marengue and DO NOT recommend it. It was bad housekeeping , and bad food. Great bar tenders though and there national drink is Mama Wana {I know I am not spelling that right, but is honey, red wine and rum served over tree roots. Like tequila, but better tasting and you can remember the next morning what you did. The other resort in Puta Cana that we loved was called "Bachata" Like the dance move. I can't spell these words!!! Oh well, I try. Glad you did well on your vacation and let me know when you want to go to the Dominican Republic. HA< HA Great herring from you, Shirley

Hi Kim. How are you? I am doing well and feel great. I was pretty nauseous for two weeks. We went on a vacation to the Dominican Republic and between the buffet and the rum it was pretty rough, but I only gained 1 lbs and have since lost it and some. Glad to be back to normal routine. Hope all is well and write soon, Shirley

Hey Doll I just had to write you and tell you I got my date!!!! February 10th I'm happy and nervous and everything inbetween ! I hope all is well by you. I'm guessing your silence is due to a heavy work schedule but I do hope you pop in once in awhile to say hi and let us know how you're doing.

Sleeved or not sleeved:
I have had a gastric sleeve.
Biography:
Back in July 2009, it took me 11 months to lose 106 lbs doing the South Beach diet. In Nov 2010, I started putting it all back on after a series of problems in my life. I have struggled tremendously to find that kind of will power again and eventually gave up, ballooning to my highest weight ever. My family feels I am being too drastic deciding on WLS, but I can't wait for my journey to begin.

3 MONTHS POST-OP (with comparison pics)!

by Kimpossible318 on 12-16-2013 at 08:22 AM
So these past 3 months have come and gone in a whirl. It's insane!

I have discovered an application called "Monitor Your Weight" on my phone. It's pretty cool - you should check it out.

Basically, in 3 months I have lost 62.4 lbs. My BMI has gone from 56 to 45.9. I have lost 36% of the weight I want to lose in nearly 25% of the time I want to lose it. Not too shabby.

I am happy with my weight

10 weeks post-op UPDATE!

by Kimpossible318 on 11-25-2013 at 10:42 AM
I seriously cannot believe it has been 10 weeks already. I know they say time flies the older you get, but sheesh....maybe I need it to slow down a little.

Again, I apologize for not being as active on here as I was. This is the time of year where work gets a little cRaZy and my travel schedule gets ramped up. I just got into town last Tuesday night late and I leave again this coming Wednesday. Oy!

So here are my thoughts about being sleeved thus far:

Home, sweet home

by Kimpossible318 on 11-19-2013 at 11:45 PM
Remember me? Yeah, I know I've been M.I.A. lately.

Just returned home from a 9 day business trip to Chicago. I was incredibly busy throughout each and every day.

I missed my gastricsleeve.com peeps sooo much.

I will be working on posting my 2 month post-op blog ASAP.

Hope to catch up on all of you by the end of the week.

Take this phlegm and shove it, yo!

by Kimpossible318 on 11-07-2013 at 02:33 AM
Prior to my surgery...about 3 weeks prior, I got sick. It wasn't too be unexpected cuz I always come down with the same crud. I always try to self-medicate. I eventually figure out I can't and then I go to see the doctor. This time was different. I felt a sore throat pop up out of the blue on Tuesday. My FB friends were so kind to throw natural remedies my way from apple cider added to my water to honey in my tea, but I Nyquil'd myself just to get sleep and vowed to go to the doctor the next

6 Weeks Post Op!

by Kimpossible318 on 10-28-2013 at 06:25 AM
Okay, okay....I'll admit it. Since I moved back home (a week ago this past Sunday), I've stepped on the scale every day.

Some days there is no loss. Other days it's a pound. Today was a one-pounder which put me at 40 lbs lost! I couldn't be happier!

I had two kiddie birthday parties to attend this weekend. The first one, on Saturday, I ate a small piece of brisket with bbq sauce. The second one, I just sipped on my drink the whole time. After yesterday's party,
