Hi Kait, I have been at a slow down/stall. It started in week 3 and I'm in week 5 now. I think I've lost maybe 4 or 5 lbs during the last couple of weeks, 3-5. Any other time I'd be extremely thrilled but of course it doesn't feel great to have such a small loss after surgery. I know I've read on here many times about stalls and such and it sounds pretty typical for it to begin in week 3. Hopefully we start dropping more lbs again really soon! LOL

Hi Kait. I am on week 5 and have been stalled for about 9 days. I started under 200 also so would love to chat and compare stalls. Hee It is nice to know what is normal and it sounds like it is pretty common to stall at our point in this, and at our weight.

Thanks Kait Yep, doing great... Maybe just a wee bit impatient for my actual surgery date but I try to remind myself good things come to those that wait lol. Glad to hear things are getting easier day by day. One day the op and lifestyle adjustments will all be a distant memory and just a normal way of life. So awesome!! Take care & big hugs right back xo

Hi Kait!! How are you doing? I can't believe we didn't run into each other while in Mexico! I guess after surgery, I was out shopping , or at least window shopping in most of the spare time.
How did it go for you? How is recovery at home going?
I thought I would also MissyK who had surgery the day before me. & I missed her too!!
I hope every thing is going great!! :0)

  10. Thank you to everyone for all the kind wishes!! <3 You guys are truly the best. I am happy to report my surgery went well and I am now back home resting and adjusting to life with my new sleeve. I have not weighed myself recently because to be honest loosing weight has been the last thing on my mind the past week - more just trying to come out the other side of surgery and get through the long travel from TJ back to Canada. I am going to weigh myself tomorrow so I am pretty excited about that! I will try to keep everyone posted and get my weight (starting) up on my ticker.

July 14th, 2013 ~ less than one month till my surgery!

by Kait on 06-14-2013 at 05:45 PM
Well I just joined the gastric sleeve community today. I am feeling a lot of anxiousness about my choice of surgery (gastric plication), I am starting to question whether I should choose the gastric sleeve instead as it supposedly removes the "hunger hormone" whereas plication does not. I just really want this surgery to be successful, I am so tired of loosing and regaining the same 40+ lbs. Food has become a constant battle for me and I feel I have no control once I start eating sweets.
