Thank you so much for the message. I am happy and nervous too! The liquid diet IS rough, have had a few slips in not eating exactly right but have pretty much stayed liquid. Wanting Wednesday to hurry up, be here and be done with so I can get to the other side of surgery and start dropping more weight with help. I wish you the best of luck as well!

It really is helpful to blog....especially when you want to look back to see how you're doing. Good luck!
  7. I am happy that you are doing so well. You have given me some great advise about preparing myself and those around me (my two teenagers) for my new healthier life style. I have been focusing on preparing myself mentally for the change of eating habits. At first I was like, "I am going to eat everything that I can't have later right now!!" But then I thought to myself, "girl you have been basically doing that for years now and you better use this time to learn the new way" lol! I have also started walking on my treadmill again since I want to be able to walk without problems immediately after surgery. If you can think of anything else to help me prepare I would love to hear it. I want a transition that is easy as possible after surgery. Thanks for all your help! Keep up the good work and I pray for a speedy healing process for you.

    Hi there

Things are going great. I am 2 weeks out tomorrow and am returning to work.
I am having no problems getting my protein and fluid in each day and am eating well.
Just had an egg nd 1/4 cup grated cheese or breakfast.
I have no hunger but try and eat at set meal times with my husband.
I started my preparations 6 months before surgery losing half of my weight and eating very similar to the way I do now.
I had always done weight training x3 week but added cardio with good effect. I will resume the weights in 2 weeks.
I only weigh once a week and today I had lost 10.3 pounds since surgery and 60 pounds nice November 2012.

I wish you every success with your surgery ... Each of us are different and have a unique set of circumstances that bring us to the decision to ave surgery. I am here to offer support and my opinion, not always appreciated by some
Use this 2 months wisely to prepare yourself and those around you for your new healthy lifestyle.
  9. We are in the same boat as far as having a support system other than groups with our surgery buddies. I chose not to tell my family and friends to avoid the negativity that I would definitely get (believe me). I have a very judgmental family. The only one's who know about my surgery are my two kids. I have a 18 yr old son and 17 year old daughter. My son's is not so crazy about the idea but he know's that I have their best interest at heart always and trust that I have done my homework about the surgery. My daughter is just scared of anything that has to do with surgery (which is understandable). I am divorced from their father (12 years now) and am not dating anyone so my kids and I are very close. Have a wonderful day today and I will be keeping in touch soon. We are gonna rock our new bodies very soon girl!!! I can't wait

Thank you Tanya. Yes we definitely have to keep in touch and be a source of motivation for each other. I am out and about right now getting my EKG, chest x-ray, and lab work done. The head hunger will be a challenge but we can overcome it!!! The negatives will so outway the positives. I do not have a large source of support through this process from friends and family so I will be depending on my new found friends here heavily!!! Our surgery dates will be here before you know it. You are going before me so I'll really be looking to you for advice.
  11. Thank you so much for the tips! I will definitely make sure and walk. I hear that's the key to help with the gas pain. I am happy to hear that the Dr. is handsome! That sure does help to look at someone who easy on the eyes. How many incisions did you end up having? I am excited to hear that you were up and enjoying the sun so quickly. That's a great sign! I appreciate you being there for me to answer my questions. I will reach out to you again soon. Seems like you are doing wonderful! Keep up the good work!

    Hi Tanya,
I would be glad to give you some tips. First travel lightly and make sure you get your passport early. When you arrive please do not be surprise about where the place is located it is very clean inside and the people are very nice. Make sure you take all the suggestion they give you before hand. When surgery is over start walking and keep walking even when you do not feel like it, it helps so much on day 2 I was out shopping and enjoying the sun. I am sure you will do well just do what is instructed to do, do not fight the process, the Dr and nurses knows best. I really enjoyed my whole process and sure you will also. Oh yeah and the Dr is so handsome, LOL!!! He spoke to us and ask if we had any questions. If you have any more questions please feel free to let me know I am here for you and anyone else.
