Hello, Dr. Quinones works out of Santa Fe. which is a small private hospital. For me it was imporant to have my surgery in a hospital not a clinic. Dr Q only does 4 surgeries a day, which was also very something I wanted. My surgery went very well. I was able to fly home (6hrs San Diego to Atlanta to Miami 1 1'1/2 hours) after 46 hrs after my surgery. Here is Dr Sergio Quinones website Dr. Sergio Quinones - Dr. Sergio Quinones
You might also want to join Dr Q's group on this site http://www.gastricsleeve.com/forum/g...-quinones.html
Please feel free to message me if you have any other questions. Good luck!!!

Ah....no worries there. Like I said, he keeps a translator with him always. He has a session where he answers any questions with you (as a group) and Dr. Bettancourt also comes and speaks to the group (he speaks english well). Dr. B mostly is entertaining, but does give info and answers questions too. he just doesn't do the surgeries. It really is over so fast that it seems that no sooner than you're getting in there, you're waking up in the next room and then walking up to a room to sleep the night.

    Hi...

I can tell you that my experience was great! The doctor speaks some english, enough to communicate, but is not so confident in his speaking skills, so he always has a translator with him. No, you won't see him again after surgery, but is ok, because his staff speaks english enough to take total care of you and they are all very kind. Dr. Battencourt is a Dr., just doesn't do these surgeries...don't know what kind of doctor he is though. I had no infection, no problems even with gas or throwing up. The only problem I have occasionally, is that I sometimes eat too fast and sometimes too much....both MY fault. I am apparently a slow learner, lol. If you went to him, you wouldn't be sorry, I'm sure. He is experienced. You don't need to speak english to know what you're doing, just have to know what you're doing. I know most of our doctors don't speak chinese or spanish...but could still do their jobs, right? I would definitely do it again. I am glad I did and only wish I'd known sooner (and had the money). Good luck in your decision process. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask me anytime. Jen
