Hey Thompson...This is Jeannie...wondering how you are doing!
all is well thanks everyone
hope all went well yesterday, wishing you much success
Hope all is well and things have gone smoothly on your big day!
Congratulations! Hope all is well and you're resting comfortably.
I'm here at Jerusalim Hospital getting blood work ' EKG.
Good Luck to you! I hope it all goes smoothly and you are back in the land of the North before too long. When do you expect to be home? I am so excited for you!! Diana
Wishing you all the best for your op and hope for a speedy recovery!
And any questions, I will be happy to answer. I went through some things, and am going through some more now ... even this close to my "goal", which was changed a couple of times throughout this journey. I really believe you can't feel alone in this, because you aren't! And this is NOT the easy way out, which someone somewhere may say to you! This is one of the hardest things you will ever do! Believe in yourself and you will do great things!! Good Luck! I look forward to hearing how it all went. Diana
Right now I ordered some Bariatric vitamins online and I only take one per day. My blood work has come back good everytime ... except for my Vit D which I seem to have issues with ... but had those issues prior to surgery as well. As to the protein, bite your protein first. Greek yogurt will become your friend and lean meats. (Tuna, chicken, pork) Also, if you can drink milk, do that. I unfortunately can't stomach it ... but for those that can it is wondrous! Skim milk of course! And your protein is so important, it is how you will get your energy back! There is also a great protein drink for when you first get out, Weider from Shoppers Drug Mart or Costco. It is the fruit juice one, not a lot of after taste and it is not as heavy as other protein drinks as it is more like a juice. I loved that stuff, but only had to use it for a month or so! Good Luck! If you would like to keep in touch, I will give you my personal information as I am not always on here. dianakurenoff@gmail.com 780-531-2257 (unlimited texting) I will be in Edmonton for 12 weeks starting on February 15th for some training if you want to grab a coffee or something! Diana Oh, and let me know if you have any other questions or anything!! Don't ignore the other stuff... the mind games that will go on! They are the most crucial part and the stuff hardest to talk about as well. I am here for you! You only have to ask!
Well hello there. Are you thinking of having the surgery or are you on here for support? I would love to chat! Thanks so much. It is hard for me sometimes to reach out to people. How are you? Does this forum work for you or would you prefer email or text?
As far as daily protein, I'm pretty lucky to be one of those who actually enjoys the protein shakes. I don't care for the powders, but I think most of the ready-to-drink pre-mixed shakes are YUMMY! Once I'm back to food, I plan to use a lot of dairy, such as cottage cheese, greek yogurt, string cheese, etc. to get it all in. I'm a HUGE beef fan, so hopefully I can get back to eating lean steaks and hamburgers sooner rather than later, but I know that will probably take longer than chicken, etc. Unfortunately, I do NOT like fish and chicken isn't my favorite either, so it may be a struggle for me to get it from real food. I do love shrimp, though, so maybe I'll do a lot of that. Not sure on the vitamins yet, waiting to talk to my surgeon and his nutritionist and get their recommendations. I've seen people have great blood work with only a Flintstones chewable, but I also need iron (I'm borderline anemic) and I plan to also take like 10,000 mcg of biotin a day!
Yep, I'm going to Mexico too - Dr Ariel Ortiz.
I also had to pay out of pocket, but I know it's going to end up being the best money I've ever spent!
Hi there! Are you excited for the 15th? I know I am! I seriously cannot believe how close it is!!
