  1. my appt went good. I lost a decent amount. I also still have trouble getting full 64 oz of fluids in also. I also struggle with the protein. I know I have been told both about protein that it is fluids and it is not. Thankfully, I do not have to worry about going back to work. Sleep is ok...wake up alot. Having problemes with my feet.

How did your appt go? I found out that I have become lactose intolerant as of the surgery. I haven't lost as much as I would have liked but I am having a difficult time getting in 64 ounces of fluids. Haven't really tried with the protein as I was told to focus on the fluids first. I was a bit disgruntled that Dr. eibes specifically told me that bottled Isopure counts as a fluid and a protein - wrong - it is only a protein. I go back part time as of today (Thursday). I am concerned that my fluid levels will decrease. Plus I have now experienced insomnia so getting meaningful sleep at night is pretty much impossible.
  3. My follow up is Tuesday the 15th!! I also have been focusing on the liquids....stay hydrated!!! I am down 25 as of last week, thursday, but haven't checked at all this week. I am scared to look. Keep up the good work. I know it is a struggle, I have that same struggle!!!! But the end result will all be worth it!!!! Just hang in there!!!! I am on here or a phone call away if you need to talk. 515-954-5627

Everytime I have try more than just a small thing of protein, that is when I get the diarrhea and stomach cramps so I've been trying to focus more on the fluid. My follow up appointment isn't until Monday morning, the 14th. I had lost quite a bit of weight and have now stalled since Sunday.

Things are going well overall. Not looking forward to going back to work soon. Unfortunately I missed the Saturday session. I started having explosive diarrhea and decided that being in a large room with lots of people might not be the best. Having my days of doubt. Makes it hard when I am cooking for the rest of the family. Still having a hard time getting the fluid all in every day. Not having the best of luck with protein unless it is in the Isopure. Still having issues with my close up vision but I know it is due to the meds. I am hoping that when I go back to work I that I will be allowed to come back part time first. Even better would be to come back part time and work from home. Just depends on management.
  6. yeah...that liquid pain reliever is screwy with eyes....but my pain has subsided and I try to just use it at night. I have a couple pills for pain and nausea that work well...but again...am not bad on pain. That is alot of fluids to push. I haven't weighed and don't plan on it til I have to . I have to go to my regular doctor tomorrow because my potassium was a bit low so they want it checked. They will probably make me weigh....am not gonna worry....one week down.....will be three months before we know it.....

Agreed, I was not impressed with Dr. Eibes. Since I decided to go home on Saturday they pushed a full IV bag into me within 2 hours. When I got home I was puffy everywhere from the extra fluids including my hands and my legs. I weighed 10# more when I got home than when I went there, took till late Monday to finally get rid of the fluid. I can't do the liquid pain meds, it screwed with my ability to focus close up with my vision. So all of my pain meds have to be in pill form.

That was me behind you waiting for the upper gi test. I was not sure if it was you so I didn't say anything. I came home on Saturday would have and should have stayed an extra day (it was my choice). Sunday wasn't bad. Monday my stomach was growling and I was just hungry and I don't think it was mental hunger. Last night was my worst night to date (except for Friday night, my nursing staff forgot to give me my pain meds until I questioned 8 hours later, so I was in extreme pain that night. My head is still wrapping around if this is the right thing to do but there is no going back now. Guess my questioning is due to having a lap band for just over 3 years which failed and was removed in april, so hoping that thus does the right thing for me. Hopefully I will make it to the support group meeting on Saturday. My name is Laura and my cell is 988-8386.

Frustrated

by kimmer21270 on 09-01-2013 at 12:11 AM
I just had surgery....a hysterectomy.....of course I have already had the sleeve in December. But I just had this other surgery on Tuesday....my scale says I am up ten pounds and I am eating the same as I was before when I was losing. Does any surgery cause weight gain afterwards????? I am so frustrated!!!!!

Today

by kimmer21270 on 02-12-2013 at 08:10 AM
Today is my birthday. I a proud to say I am 43 years young. I am 6 weeks post sleeved. I have lost 63 pounds so far. The bummer is this the first birthday without my mom. She passed in September, before I even had the sleeve. But i know I have a guardian angel, she is with me all the time. I love you Mom...Happy birthday to you!!!!!

Losing weight.....still depressed

by kimmer21270 on 01-31-2013 at 02:19 PM
I have to question myself. I am doing well, I have lost 63 lbs so far. However, I am struggling with getting all my water and protein in, I am freaked out that if I don't get my protein in, I will lose my hair. I get about 40 to 45 grams in at least. The worst thing is I feel so depressed. Is it common too be so depressed and such????

Questions

by kimmer21270 on 01-26-2013 at 06:37 PM
I am about 5 weeks post surgery. Has anyone else still have problems getting all their water and protein in? I get most in, but fail to get all in. Also, I have gotten a good case of gout. My doctor doesn't want us using NSAIDS, so, lucky me gets to deal with pain!! Any suggestions?
