  7. Thanks for the quick response! I am a bit scared but more excited than anything else. I just want the weight loss NOW! Today is my last day of complete food freedom! I have been dieting for 7 months and I am down 47 pounds and I decided the other day it was time to take a few days off since I had done so well. I am so ready for this actually the "over-eating thing" no longer has any appeal it just grosses me out! I want to be thin and have my teenage body back- Well maybe my teenage+4 kids+30years-100pounds=Tomorrows Body!

    I'm doing well thanks.

The rest of the day following the surgery I was ok with pain meds. Got up and walked 2 laps of the floor twice. Slept really poorly that night (I am always a bad sleeper) and felt miserable on day 2. Not due to pain or anything, just cranky, irritiable, weepy. Managed a good night sleep last night and went home this morning. Not on any pain meds since 4am (it's now 3pm for me). I'm moving slower than a slug, but am moving ok, not terribly uncomfortable or anything.

The day/night before the surgery I was very scared, second guessing my decision, and of course, what if I die?! Woke up the next morning (thank you sleeping pill!) calm and ready to go ahead.

Am having a bit of protein shake now. Yesterday I had jello, broth, and milk. Had some babyfood apples and strawberries today. Not feeling pain in my stomach at all. The biggest incision site, where they pull out the stomach, is causing a bit of pain, but Dr says that's from the stitch.

All the best with your surgery!

Absolutely I will come back in over time. Just give it time and It should stop falling out by month 5. You may need to just choose a short hair cut for a while.

I am down 40 pounds since surgery now and I have had a tough summer. I hurried with the surgery and got it 5/21 because I knew summer would be busy and I just needed to get the weight off. 9 or 10 days after surgery I was having odd pain and went to ER and they found a really bizarre tumor on top of my aorta between my lungs in my mediastinum. It was not cancer but they had to open my sternum and remove the tumor on 7/23. I can eat anything but I am pretty good about staying within the limits

One week post op!

by MollyR on 05-28-2012 at 11:42 PM
I am 49 years old and I have been overweight since my 23 year old daughter was born. Now I have 4 kids and I actually normally lost weight best when I was pregnant. I was not nearly as hungry and the baby helped me absorb the calories. But now I am too old to have babies! Our social life revolved around great food and wine and entertaining and me being an amazing cook that also worked at William Sonoma just for fun!.

In my battle to loose the pounds I have done Weight Watchers
