For sure will do, good luck with whomever you choose as a Dr. and lol I didn't go with Almanza started to like you but choose a different doctor. Popularity isn't always the best. WE WILL BOTH get to where we want to be. I know we don't know one another but I am proud you choose school over your surgery because that was a hard decision many people wouldn't have made the right one. Yet you did. Congrads girl but I will for sure keep in touch with you

Okay that is great, I was worried hadn't heard from you in a while (posting wise) I was wondering what had happened. I know this is a great decision for your health and yourself. I really hope it works out this time around in your favor. I know how much it meant for me to get this done and I don't like to hear no one is unable to have it especially if they were at a point in their life that I was at. YOLO (You Only Live Once) and this surgery is the start of that beginning.

Hey I hope everything works out for you and if you want to still get it done I tell you I just got mines down with my doctor and I had no problems I am healing fine. Let me know it is Dr.Sergio Quinones, I know about school as well I am in school which is why I got my surgery earlier. Well regardless best of wishes to you. It is amazing I know your time will come as well just again let me know if your interested I can get him to do it for 4300.
  7. I had to drain for a week. I doubt they would put one in then expect you to find someone to take it out. I wouldn't worry, just be excited!

thank you for the compliment, and yes I went to Dr. Almanza for my revision, it was actually easier than the band, not the gas it still sucks and mostly went to my back but as for the pain, not much. i think what hurt the worst is where they remove your port, you will be fine. oh when you go for a revision you wont be able to go to the recovery house like the others, you will be staying in the clinic the whole time, and you will have an extra leak test than everyone else.
  9. It was under my right boob just at the bottom of my ribs. I had to drain it and record the output (then today they didn't even ask for it. LOL!) and then tuck it in my wasteband or bra. The doctor that removed it today said he doesn't usually use drains, but that my doctor probably did because it was a revision, but who knows. I was glad that I had bought this housecoat robe thing with pocket so I could just cut a slit like it was in my hospital gown so it didn't fall and get pulled on. Where do you go for follow up when you have your surgery in Mexico? That is exciting! Life change and some sun.
  10. Hi! I had Dr. Martin at Madigan. The recovery seems to be about the same. Last time the gas was in my shoulder and I did not love that, but this time it was in my belly which wasn't so bad. The most painful part is where they took the port and the stomach out. I got out on Friday, and I quit taking narcotics on Sunday and am just taking tylenol as needed, if that helps you gauge. The better part of the recovery on this procedure is that I am not hungry yet, so doing this liquid thing is no big deal. Oh, and I had a drain this time and that sucked and was gross and inconvenient, but a small price today. They pulled it out today and it just felt like bad cramps. Hope that is not TMI! LOL!

Overthinking

by inloveak2010 on 06-27-2012 at 07:13 PM
So here i've been reading about all these people that got infections. Found youtube video's of girls that died from this surgery, and have been freaking myself out.

Well, here's what I've come to terms with.

1. I have no insurance, and cannot afford this surgery elsewhere.
2. I am pre diabetic and pre hypertensive.
3. These people are not me.
4. Theyre have not been any outbursts of infection since 2011.
5. I personally know 2 people

Soundtrack to my life

by inloveak2010 on 06-24-2012 at 12:42 PM
First- I'd like to apologize for all the typos that are probably going to appear- I'm on my iPad.

Second. The date is getting closer. I am rally ready for this. I am so ready!
Now who can tell me about the issues they had after surgery. I was reading diarrhea is common after surgery. For how long? I don't really always have an option to get to a bathroom at all times.

To the extreme gym goers, how often do you work out? How long after surgery did you wait before

I did not know this site has a blog area! I just joined but I am entirely to excited!
First does anyone know how to change my display picture? I added an avitar, but its not showing!

I have to tell you guys. Being 20 years old and having your second weightloss surgery is embarressing. The first one I had at 16 and was completely not ready for. I can't blame the lap band for my lack of will power and follow through. It did have (and still does) have a lot of negative side
