  1. So, it has been another five months since surgery. I have a workout routine, cooking and freezing healthier meals and have gone from a size 24 to 14. I am shopping in regular clothing stores and figuring out a whole new wardrobe. Minus 62 lbs since i joined here but my real start point I am down 78lbs. It is harder some days but it is worth every single second of the journey.
  2. I am sitting here typing wearing a size large.. really a size large.. not a 3x, not a 2x, not a 1x. A person I know had lap band surgery and has gone from a size 30 to 24. I had her over and gave her six years of clothes... jackets, suits, club outfits.. she danced around so beautifully with each thing she put on. Last night I went to the bins of clothes I have saved for years and hung up my size 18, 16 and the 14s are still in a drawer... I have a date tonight and have started enjoying my size again... I finally like trying on clothes and looking in the mirror. For the last three years I would not even look at myself at all. Not happy about extra skin, still figuring out how to deal mentally with that.
  3. Well, 24 days post and I am struggling with not seeing more weight loss. I am on soft foods and cleared for exercies so I am going to Hot Yoga this morning. I figured out I was taking in too much protein with my nutrionist so I hope by listing and monitoring fat, carb and protein more closely I will see more results. I am not beating myself up because pre and post I have now lost 35 lbs. I think I just expected more restriction and I have to kick into some serious mental power and plan. I have my chicken and spinach all diced up and in small containers, non fat yogurt... so I am crossing my fingerss that exercise will be the key. Went to a family picnic yesterday and my ex and his family commented on the loss so I know its happening. Patience has never been my virtue.
  4. Hello, I am thrilled to finally have done something more permanent about my weight. I have been dieting since age 12 and was always the big girl. I was surprised at how many friends/family attempted to talk me out of it and I never looked back. I am already down a size and cannot wait to keep seeing my body and thoughts change. I hope to gain advise and support here as well as provide it to others.

Keeping it REAL

by ktcas on 08-28-2011 at 05:03 PM
So, it's been over a month since my surgery and I weathered Irene very well physically. Emotionally, I realized I overate yesterday because of old habits and anxiety. I got right back on track and walked the dog as soon as the storms passed. I realized that even though I am close to minus 45lbs I have a long journey ahead with emotional eatting. My ticker starts at 295lbs however I was 311lbs when I first went to doc. This is the best thing I have ever ever done for myself and I am really
