I'm finding it is uncomfortable to take in 4 oz of protein at meals. I'm 3 weeks post op. Is this normal to start getting uncomfortable at 3-4 ounces?
I think it is normal. My doc told me to think in terms of volume of the Altoid can (tin). If you can eat that three-quarters full of meat, and then 1/4 full of veggies, you'll be full. Don't try for more than what fits in the Altoid can. Eat three meals like that a day, and drink water between. That's what's working for me. If you have to puree it, ok. if you can chew it or it is very soft, so much the better. My favorite is steamed tilapia and zucchini. Quick, flavorful, nutritious. No more than an Altoid can in volume. I usually have to stop before I finish my Altoid can-full.
Thanks for the response. I'll try to think in those terms.
What a great visual suggestion. I love it!! Thanks for the tip
i can eat like 3-4 bites of food before I am full. Love the visual idea, thanks
Does anyone find they are really sensitive to odors since surgery? Things I used to love make me so nauseous for some reason- finding it a bit hard to get food down
