Did anyone have trouble using their cellphone in Mexico, if so what cellphone carrier are you with?

Mine worked. I have At&t...however, the bill i got was pretty big because of the surcharges even though I had an international plan...use it sparingly =)

Most aren't compatible with the signals in Mexico. If your phone does work, most every US carrier will charge you insane amounts for using it. Also, even if you're not using it and merely have it on, you can incur high roaming charges.

mine worked in some places in the hotel like the window area of my room... Verizon .99 a minute

How was the internet service at the hotel?

wifi was fine at the hotel and the hospital

Is this just for calls or what about texting?

i have verizon, and used texting, phone, email while I was there, good reception everywhere, I switched my family plan to a US/Mexico plan before I left, and then switched it back when I got back, so all that communication I did constantly in MX only cost me about 15 bucks extra overall.
