  1. Congratulations on your 17 lb loss! Be sure to celebrate each and every day because it is a new day towards a healthier and happier you. As you drinking pre-made shakes? I can't really stand those because they seem so thick and sweet so the protein powder with works the best for me. I use a 24 oz shaker cup and fill the entire thing with water and add 1 scoop of protein. It really thins it out and helps it go down so much easier. Be sure to stick to the plan and not introduce foods too quickly. Your stomach needs time to heal plus it will help you figure out to deal with head hunger.
  2. Hi Candik, thanks for your suggestions, I appreciate it. My first post-op visit went well, I have only lost 17 lbs. I have not been totally compliant with the full liquid diet because I felt like I was starving at lunch time at work and have had a few spoonfuls of thin mashed potatoes. I still struggle with the protein. I have tried the Lean 25 protein drink from GNC, but I can only take in about 4 to 6 oz of this per day.
  3. Good morning! During the full liquid phase I stuck with cream soup, yogurt, and pudding. I found some really good cream soups in the vegetarian food section at Kroger and at Whole Foods. I can't stand most of the premade protein shakes so I have used a powdered protein mix since surgery. I get it at the Vitamin Shoppe and its called Optimum Platinum Hydro Whey. It has 30g of protein and a very lite taste. I mix one scoop with 24 oz of either water or a mix of water/almond milk. Its the first thing I have every morning as I get ready for work. I know it seems hard right now but just keep sipping and taking a few bites here and there. It will get easier! I thought Dr. Macik did a wonderful job and my scars are barely visible. Be sure to stick to the plan he gave you 100% and don't "try" something early just to see if you can tolerate it. If you have any other questions along the way please feel free to reach out to me.
