  1. Thanks for checking. My first day went well. I really like the trainer I am working with. Today will be my second day. I will be there in about an hour, I will work with him tomorrow too and think Monday will be my first day doing the rotation stuff. There is so much I don't know. The names of everything. I did like on the website for the video links, but there are so many that I just decided it is better just to learn as I go along, and by watching other people while I am there. I will have a lot of modifications, but I like that he wants me to do something a little different and learn the correct way when I get strong rather than risk an injury, or learn something the wrong way and have to try to correct it later. Everyone there was really friendly on my first day. The reader board is overwhelming, but I will figure it out. How are you doing? Do you have anything new going on?
  2. Just checking in to see how you are doing? How was your first week?
  3. Thanks. I just saw this, your note was not in the "view conversation" it was posted only on your visitor page, but not on mine. Weird.
Anyway, my first day is next week. I have to do the two days with the owner before I can take the classes.
I am getting excited, and nervous that I will make fool of myself. Ha ha ha. Oh well. I have to at least try it before I decide if I don't want to do it. But I think I will like it. I bought a couple new workout shirts and pants. Handstand push ups??? Ahhh heck no! I can't even stand on my head. I am going break my neck! Seriously?? handstands??? Oh what I am thinking???!!!
  4. Great news. My experience was great. Everyone was very nice. I got to watch most of the class and the owner went over everything I think I need to know.
I start in two weeks! How does the virtual workout buddy work? I might be up for that. I am excited to get moving.
  5. Thank you so much
I already told the owner that I have lost half my body weight, and I need to work muscle tone.
I am glad it has worked so well for you. Very encouraging!! I will keep in touch.
  6. Thank you! Currently I am doing anywhere from 5 to 9 miles, 4 to 5 days a week.
Some days I power walk, and some days I switch between jogging and walking. Depends on how my muscles are feeling, I try not over do it.

You have increased so much already! That is awesome!!! I am glad to hear you are liking it too. I didn't want to walk in there feeling out of place or anything. I am kind of nervous about that. But I am ready to try it.

Did you tell the coaches about having the VGS procedure? I really don't think I will do that though.

    Thanks for all the info.
I will keep in touch with you if that's alright.
I will let you know how it went. I am only going to meat the coaches this week and find out info about the classes and how everything works.
    But it looks fun!!!
    Talk to you soon.
  7. Hi MJ,

I absolutely love it! I have been doing it three times per week since the beginning of January. I can tell my strength is increasing, and I get compliments on my back muscles all the time

I did end up doing half a protein shake about 30-45 minutes before leaving and then a cup of decaf with half a banana when I get home, and a small oatmeal about an hour later.

I am also running on my off days (so the other 4 days per week). Same eating schedule. Typically run 4-5 miles, except on Sundays is long runs of 8-12 miles depending on how close I am to my marathon. (Note: 6 months ago, I couldn't run at all and started with the Couch to 5K program, and I now do a run/walk method for anything over 5 miles of 8 minutes running and 2 minutes walking).

Let me know if you are looking for a virtual workout buddy as you learn the Crossfit ropes. Happy to help! Best of luck!
  8. Hi rjc11.
I did a Crossfit search, and read your post from when you first started. I am curious if you are still doing it, and if you like/liked it? I am going to meet the trainers at the Crossfit in my area this week. If you have any suggestions, advice, or any helpful info I would really appreciate it. I have never joined a gym or classes except Jazzercise, aerobics and water aerobics. I know it is totally different from all of those. Thank you. MJ
