  1. You look fabulous and I bet you feel it too...I love the wedding shots they are amazing...I am going to be a regular on here again because I am committing to make a serious effort for my next 10 kilo weight loss...Nice to see you doing so well!!!
  2. Hi Heidi
I hear you on the hurry up & lose the rest! Hoped to be 90kg or under by now!
Yesterday I kept in the 5s all day and 6s all day today!
Recently read Sweet Poison Quit Plan by David Gillespie, where he dishes the dirt on sugar, it's "cousins" (eg fructose), & talks about artificial sweeteners. Since reading I have been more conscious to avoid sugars, & dropped another 800g in only days. David lost 40kg, simply by cutting sugars. He concedes some are unavoidable, but advocates making the effort to eliminate as much as possible. He has a new book out, Big, Fat Lies where he talks about the diet industry, fats, and supplements. Can't wait to get my hands on that one!
Other than that, with only 53 days until the wedding, I could do with being able to put a bomb under the weight loss.
Specialist was disappointed that the losses had slowed up when I went for my 6 month post-op appointment. Dietician tweaked a couple of things, but was otherwise happy with what I had been doing. She had previously told me to take Benefiber (made from wheat dextrin), but in David's book he spoke about the different types of fibre, & revealed that wheat dextrin is one of the bad fibres! Makes you sick to think that for years you are under the impression you're doing and eating all the right things, only to find that you've been poisoning your body. I know that I am living proof that low fat/artificially sweetened doesn't work!
    Hear from you soon!
    Heather
  3. Hi Heather,
Just realised we are progressing at a very similar rate. Good to see someone else with similar progress cause my mind thinks hurry up and lose the rest. But my body is doing it in a kinder fashion....Heidi
  4. Hi sorri I never returned to this site at all.

I had Dr Ken Loi at St George Private Hospital, Kogarah.

I had Insulin resistance which is a little different to normal diabetes....I had levels of 24 for Insulin and after operation 9! Nailed that...I am now 23kilos down with 17 to go...I have osteoarthritis so can't hammer myself with exercise....Feel heaps better and getting lots of lovely comments!! How are you going?
  5. Hiya!
    How's things going?
Went for 2 week check up on Tuesday. Have been having a bit of discomfort so Dr was concerned I might have a leak. Blood test showed not, and that I'm healing well (what a clever little blood test!). Went to GP yesterday and she has taken me off the fluid tablets, so that's 2 tabs down per day now.
Onto purees now but still filling up so easily. Ended up with a jar of baby food for lunch and even that was a challenge to eat. Oh well, it can only get better!
  6. BTW where are you situated, and who is your surgeon???
  7. Hope everything goes well!!! After the operation you should notice a dramatic improvement in your health, depending what your health issues are.
Being diabetic, I was told that some people are able to lose their diabetic meds in a matter of DAYS following surgery. Mine hasn't been quite that dramatic, but I have gone from being in the 9s in the mornings to 7s and now 6s in the morning. GP told me that when I hit 5s and 6s consistently I will be able to go from 2 Diabex tablets twice daily to 1 tab twice/day. Have already knocked off the 1 Diamicron twice/day.
Fingers crossed everything turns out well...keep me posted!
