  1. Not at all. In fact, I chose a date 4 months out from my initial appointment with Dr Ewing because summer is the busy season for my business. I could have rushed around to complete the classes, nutritionist's appointments and various doctor's approvals and had my surgery in June instead of October.

My plan is Advantage Silver. That might make a difference. Also, I had several co-morbidities (diabetes type 2, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a BMI over 45) That might also make a difference.

However, I am very happy that I took the extra time. I credit it with giving me the time and the tools to prepare myself. I learned a lot from all of the classes and meetings with health care professionals. I lost 25 lbs pre surgery and I guarantee that it helped make my surgery pain free and my recovery much faster than it would be. I had plenty of time to do lots of research, get my house, business and life ready and and prepare for all of my needs post surgery.
I know it seems like a pain in the ass to have to wait but you can turn it to your advantage. It is especially nice to not indulge in stupid "food funerals" and get a head start on you weight loss.
    Who is your doctor????
  2. Beth. I have the exact same insurance company as you. They are making me do a 6 month doctor guided diet. Did you have to do that?
