  1. Seeing a Difference

This summer has been eventful and memorable. I have been to 2 weddings, I have another this weekend and my oldest son marries in November. I am loving the compliments about my new looks. Between the first two weddings I have lost 45 pounds. I know, a lot of people have lost a lot more by their 8th week post op but although it is slow, I am still having progress.

The reason I bring up all the events is because there is always SO much food. Birthday parties, patio parties and ...
  2. A little disheartened

I've been reading and taking to heart all the posts saying stalls are normal and if you just stick with it, you will eventually start moving. I told myself I wouldn't get disappointed if this happened because I knew eventually it would change.

  4. Three more days!

Today is the last day of solid food for me and although it scares me, I'm glad because I am one day closer to the surgery and the rest of my life. I am going over everything I need to take with me, clothes, gauze, tape etc... Since I am going to Mexico to have my sleeve, this takes a lot more preparation. I am from Nebraska so this means a trip to the airport, almost 200 miles away and then a long way to my destination. I have to make sure everything is in a bag small enough for me to be able ...
  5. This isn't easy.

I have made my decision to have my surgery in Mexico with Dr. Alejandro Lopez. It has been 3 days now on the pre-op diet and I have had bad headaches everyday. I usually drank at least one cup of coffee a day so some of that is lack of caffeine. I had been on a low carb/sugar diet for quite some time so I think the headaches are from not being use to the low caloric intake.

Today has been extremely difficult because of the inability to sleep and anxiety of the surgery. I am ...
