    Question Working outside

I foreman an asphalt crew in Oklahoma, and in the summertime it gets hotter than the hubs of hell out there! Im concerned if I will be able to drink enough water to perform hard manual labor in the very hot, humid summer weeks. sometimes 90 degrees at night and well over 100 during the day. If anyone has any experience with this or has some suggestions please let me know.

Hello Kevin and Welcome to this awesome group . I too worry about drinking water, as I compensated smoking for drinking water.Hence now I have a habit of 5-6 litres per day.Have had this new habit now for 7 years. One thing I hate is feeling thirsty.
You sure would need a good drink in those conditions at work. I'm not sleeved until the 9th Feb, so I will pass over to someone else who has and can tell you more.
Welcome again and Cheers from Sandy

Hi Kevin, being from Oklahoma myself I know exactly the heat that you refer to. I haven't been sleeved yet either, but I wanted to back you up on the heat issue. The heat index in the summer against that asphalt has got to get upwards of 120F.
Good Luck to you and keep us updated.

Hi Kevin, I think that you will need to invest in a camelback. My doctor told me that the most important thing is to stay hydrated. The heat here in Ok is bad to say the least. I would increase my water intake to almost double, at the same time you will want to watch your intake of vitamins and proteins. That is the most important to look out for. Good luck and check with your doctor.
