I am going to have the sleeve in aprox 3 weeks. I am a little scared about the changes that I would have to do and about the diet before and after the surgery... diet, excercise......
If any one can tell me how was your diet before and after the surgery or sharing yor experience wiith me it will be very appreciated. Thanks!!!

I didn't mind the diet before I had my sleeve at all. But, after was mentally challenging to say the least! I really don't think anything can prepare you mentally...But it DOES get BETTER! I'm 11 weeks post op and I'm doing fine Good Luck to you on your journey (and it is a journey) to a Healthier and Happier YOU!

I am having my sleeve on Jan. 29th!
When is ur date? Maybe we could stay connected since we are going to be close in date with our surgery.
I'll start my pre-op diet on the 19th!
I guess I'm dreading it too! I should do fine tho.

Hello and welcome to the family.
We are all at various stages on this journey. So lots of information, support and advice is available.Hugs are free too. It's an awesome place here.

I am 10 days into my pre-op diet of 4 weeks.That's about the longest I've heard anyone going on pre-op. I have to use "Optifast", a very low cal diet, they are like a protein shake, and you can get bars, and soups and desserts. Also have 2 cups of non-starchy veggies.
My big day is on the 9th Feb.So we are all pretty close.

Welcome Wonderful1, and best of luck to you! Read the other posts on this forum; about all we talk about is our pre-op diet and our post-op diets, LOL. There is a lot of information here, but be sure to check with your doctor and follow his/her advice.

I realy did not have a pre-op diet. The insurance approved me and 2 weeks later I was sleeved! They just had me drink 2 protein drinks and small sensible dinner. I will say that alot of folks on here did loose alot of weight pre-sleeve and I did not

I just wanted to check with you guys because my Dr is asking me to take glucerna in the mornings and to have blended soup for lunch and dinner and fruit juice as snacks but no protein drinks.... so I wonder if i should replace any of my meals for protein drinks??? What kind of protein drinks do you recommend me?

i too will be going for surgery around the same time (feb 15th)!! my preop diet is clear fluids 3 days prior to surgery. although i'm a nurse, im also nervous about the procedure and the 'after'.....if i can just get through the mental battle of it...things should be great! i'll be thinking about u...best of luck and keep us posted!

Gloriana I am also stress out about the diet after the sleeve, my brother had it done and he says you dont even get hungry..... but is the drinking liquids at work since I dont want to tell anyone at work that I am having the surgery done.
