scared to go would like to talk

Hello everyone my name is Dave: I'm schuduked for DR Almanza Jan 3rd. I'm going to ask my daughter to help me post a pic. I would like to talk to someone who has had it done in Mexico. I had lap band in USA and it didn't go well at all. Having it taken out and sleve put in. Anyone who would loke to talk please feel free to call. Hey Dave! I had my sleeve in Piedras Negras, Mexico with Dr. Alvarez. He was more expensive than Dr. Almanza, but I LOVED him! The whole process was very easy. Where are you?

I had the surgery with Dr. Almanza on August 22 and the care I received was incredible. I love my gastric sleeve...am down 80 pounds since my pre-op diet. I was frightened too but was totally impressed when I got there. I think my recovery was amazing and I would do it again in a second. Hang in there. Before you know it you will be on your way to a new and healthy life!

I am scheduled with Dr. Almanza in January. I did a lot of research before selecting him. From what I read, the lower price is due to the no frills facility that he runs. Nealry everything I've read has been positive. He's clearly an experienced surgeon. I do understand feeling scared. I tend to overanalyze things and am anxious too. But if you do a search at the top, you can go back and read posts that deal with topics on which you have questions. I've found that very helpful, and if you take the time and navigate the forum a bit, you'll get the hang of it. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming; I've felt great posting on here.

Hi Dave, I am also a lap band patient who's revising to the sleeve. Lots of people on this forum have gone to Dr. Almanza.

I am 7 weeks post op from Dr. Almanza, down 41 lbs, and I feel GREAT! It was sort of no-frills, I mean, the clinic was in a strip mall, but very clean and comfortable. The recovery house was nice and in a gated community. I was treated well and had no pain and was very comfortable the whole time. Good luck to you!

I am eight days out of surgery and I feel great, aside from the horrid liquid diet thing--I just want real food. i had my surgery with dr. Almanza in Mexico and it is like most people have already commented, it's a clinic in a strip mall but it is very clean and it doesn't downgrade on the attention your given. It is a little small but i would take a small clinic and less expense over paying more just to have it done in a bigger hospital. The do everything that would be done in a hospital, so I dont really see the difference other than more money for luxury. A heads up about the recovery house though, the cook a lot! the smell of the food might bother some people but I didnt really care much cause my stomach was so upset at first. There is one time that I did want to just lick a spoon full of eggs, but I didn't--if I was alone I might have.

He is very good and reputed surgeon, have some faith in him, if you are facing any problem then you can ask to your surgeon frankly. dont' hesitate, you have paid for it and most important is your health so ask him about your query, he will definitely response you.

I know Dr Almanza is A Very reputable Dr, And according to my Research and what Rania Says, It's more affordable because you recuperate in the guest house, intead of paying a few $$$$ more for a Hospital Room, I also noticed that here in the states, the Dr's charges are not very high, is the Hospital what makes the bill HUGE,,there is a website called health care bluebook and you can see how much it cost just the Hospital stay for any procedure.

I went to Mexico too, as did my daughter (same day) and we have a great experience. We used a different doctor and we were very happy with him. I have read great things about the you are considering too. Good luck on your journey, it was the best decision I have ever made, well, maybe my husband was the best but this is a close second!
