I haven't pooped in 5 days. What's going on here?!?!?!
An electrolyte imbalance can cause constipation, as can dehydration. Are you drinking enough? Five days is too long. If the MoM doesn't work, you need to call your doctor. If it is something more serious, you need to know, especially if you are in pain or your belly is distended.
I never had a problem pre-op, but post-op, especially after eating "normal" foods (not pureed), I'm not as regular as I used to be. As I am lactose intolerant, I find something like milk or ice cream will resolve the issue within minutes.
I'm having the same problem. I've resorted to the gentle exlax once a week to clean out the pipes so to speak. I need to get on something regularly as a preventive. My body is used to salads and vegetables, it's not happy with my pure protein diet lol.
I put Benefiber in my shake in the morning. Or a little Mirilax. I am definitely not regular like I used to be. Of course, there isn't as much in there to come out as there used to be either.
sooo true! Its miserable isn't it? Being back to eating normal on solid foods is helping a little but yesterday my digestive system was acting up again so I am going to try the benefiber on a regular basis instead of the miralax. I will say the miralax doesnt' taste like anything. Good luck with the suggestions.
I'm only on my pre-op diet and have already found this a problem, never had this issue ever, so I'm thinking it must be the protein and not much else nutrition wise. Anyway I have just started taking both a stool softener, and benefiber and trying to increase my water consumption, I'll let you know how this works out for me!
