    Default Passport!?!?!

Hey all, Mine is EXPIRED.. I am told that going into MX I won't need it... But coming back into the US is the question???
I read someplace else on this board that as long as you have a Current DL, SS card and something else(but it wasn't passport), the US border is fine with!! Should I renew or not..... I will bringing a DL, SS and Credit/Bank card, and just a bit of cash. So will that do or should I renew... I will reach out to Louise to find out from driver if anyone's ever not had their US Passport and if there was a problem??!?!

Apparently the driver's license must qualify as an official "Enhanced" document, not all states use this kind of license...I suggest you confirm with your state MVA or get the passport renewed it seems you should still have time for an expedited renewal.

I would renew it. It takes a long time to get through the huge line at the border and you don't want to spend even more time with them asking you questions and holding things up. Especially if you have to catch a flight. If everyone has their passports, it's a breeze to get through.

I did the enhanced Drivers Licesnse . It works the same as a passport when traveling across borders by foot, car or water not air.
It is only 15.00. Double checked and Mexico is accepting this the same as a passport. Trish told me to bring my Birth cert. just for back up.
Funny there is no problem getting in ,but getting back is another story.

One of the spouses who went down with our group didn't have his actual passport but they accepted the receipt for it with his birth certificate when going back into the US. And we were required to show passports both ways.
