    Default Too much too soon?

Had my surgery September 28th. Everything went fine and easy. Doc gave a recommended list of what to eat. (never was good at following directions) I read a lot of people have problems with certain foods esepcially solids. I have had none and even ate (an ounce) of steak the other night. Am I going to cause myself harm? It doesn't bother me but I'm worried if this is bad? I stay at 700 calories or less and try to get 60 grams of protien.

I dont think it's bad, just listen to your body. Everyone does things their own way. I eat less than 500 calories per day and never pay attention to my protien intake. I will only take the childrens vitamins. I dont get in all my water. I do workout...guess that's one good thing. I worry about doing harm also.

wow, 3 weeks out and steak already!?! Thats interesting to hear...well, cant answer your question because my surgery is next week, but, I would say slow down because the last thing u want to do is stretch that new belly of yours sooo fast. I hope I can eat some steak in three weeks! If I am as lucky as you, I just might be having some sort of Thanksgiving meal after all

Just Curious how much weight have you lost post-op???? I'm thinking at 700 calories a day you should be able to lose at least 3 lbs a week.

I had my surgery the same day and I too have had a little steak. It smelled so good I couldn't pass it up. Keep in mind it was only about 1 oz and ran thru the food processor but it was good just the same! I have tried baby back rib also and so far so good. No nausea but I still have to practice eating slow. The most I can eat right now is 2 oz and that is pushing it.

My doctor told me no to eat red meat for a year and I obey. I am very scared of messing things up or feeling sick. So far everything has been great but because I follow the doctor's and nutritionist's orders to the t. Good luck to you all and be careful food is good but is it worth the risk??? =)

All surgeon's recommendations are different and mine suggests lean protein no matter what the color is.
