I had my surgery in 2012. ive gained 20 lbs. How have you been doing? anyone know the benefit of being resleeved?
Rodean has been resleeved can check with her
Heighest weight 253 pounds 3/2/2016
Pre-op weight 244 pounds 3/6/2016
1 week after surgery 238 pounds 3/13/16
1 month post-op 227 pounds 4/6/16 lost 26 pounds
2 month post-op 218 pounds 5/6/16 lost 9 pounds total of 35!
3 month post-op 204 pounds 6/6/16 lost 14 pounds total of 49!
4 month post-op 197 pounds 7/6/16 lost 8 pounds total of 56!
Do you know why you have you regained? What, how often and how much are you eating? If it's a volume thing, the resleeving could help but I would definitely have an upper GI or other diagnostics done to verify that your sleeve has expanded beyond the normal 8-12 oz. If it's what or how often you are eating, more surgery won't help.
The benefits of resleeving is tighter restriction, that's about it.
Maybe start at the beginning again? Do the liquid diet for a few weeks and them measure out your foods. You definitely don't want that 20lbs to turn to 25 and 30 etc
You worked to hard for that.

Honestly, I feel like the one thing nobody tells us going in, that they should have, is that there is a rebound gain. I was down to 165 and was thrilled. I'm a 5'11" male, that's pretty skinny. Between years 2 and 3 I regained 10# to 175. Still a normal BMI, but I feel like the brown word and fat. At 300#, if someone had said if you get this surgery you will be down to 175# I wouldn't have believed them. I would have been so happy at the prospect. But because I was 165 and know that I could weigh that again if I were able to go back to 1200 calories per day with 2x workouts. But I can't and just accept it.
If you had regained everything, I would say maybe reconsider. But if you are 160#, I wouldn't risk a second time through with organ modification. If I were morbidly obese, that would be tempting. The temptation is that we all remember that first year of loss and how amazing and free and skinny we felt and how awesome it was that the scale was falling. Nobody prepared us for when the scale would stop dropping, nor when we would have a regain. Nearly everyone I know has had a regain and I consider virtually all of them quite successful.
I had my hip replaced and had slipped up to 180#, although 2# of that was allegedly the extra weight of the implant. What I did was I spent a week at a weight loss camp in TN. It was pretty heavily discounted and was like $1100 for a shared room. I lost 8# that week and am back in the 172-175# range. Most of us are self-pay, especially for a resleeve, so something like that would be 1/6 the cost of surgery and if you did it ever year for the next 6 years, I would bet you would weigh less at the 6 year point than if you spent the money on a resleeve. I plan on doing it if I get over 175# again.
Hang in there.
I agree with John, at 160 it would probably not be a great idea to go through the risks associated with another surgery. That being said, I have considered it myself. I just cannot seem to lose those last 18 or so pounds. However, I know my surgeon and he would bluntly tell me, "you just need to oush yourself away from the table". Well, maybe he has a point but I admit I don't like hearing it but it's the truth... It continues to be more about what's going on in my mind. One thing that has been helping me lately is what I overeat, my stomach blows up like a baloon, and I am in severe pain for hours. Even still, I still do overeat occasionally. How stupid is that?? Who does that to themselves intentionally?? Anyway, know you are not alone in your struggles. I hope you find a way that works for you. I am back to my low carb today.
