Diarrhea? ???? I had my surgery on December 14th and two weeks later started eating pureed food, mashed potatoes and baby food etc. As soon as I started adding pureed foods I have diarrhea every day. Specially if I drink a protein shake within 45 minutes I'm in the bathroom. I got a hold of the place that I had the surgery and they said that yes diarrhea is normal for the first couple weeks now been 4 weeks since my surgery. Don't get me wrong, as a chubby chick I absolutely love the fact that what I'm eating is running right through me! Lol but it does take a lot out of you too. I'm taking a multivitamin and an iron pill. It just makes me nervous to eat anything. I'm having yogurt right now and that seems to be ok. Just checking to see what happened with you guys. I haven't but Im only 3 days post op...but good to know what I possibly have to look forward to �� Hope it stops!

Yep. I had it for the first few months. Everything I ate went right through me. Totally normal. It was hard, and embarrassing at times, but you figure it out.

Be aware that some folks become lactose and/or dairy intolerant after the sleeve. If you have whey protein in your smoothie, or milk/yogurt in there, it could be a problem for quite some time. You might try soy or almond milk and soy protein and see what happens.

side note, maybe you should always have on a liner especially when you go out. Hope it slows down for you soon.

Yep me too but it does clear up quickly. I wish I had that problem now I am so the other way (sorry) I hate it one of the side effects I think. Good luck. XXX

I alternate between not being able to go at all for days, and diarrhea. If you aren't taking a probiotic, it might help. Oatmeal or other SOLUBLE fiber might help as well.

Lucky! I was sooooooo constipated for months! Try to eat bananas vs apples. Bananas will help you a bit with getting thicker poo

I was constipated. Never had diarrhea, matter of fact I'm still having those issues. I was sleeved December 15th

I currently add 2 teaspoons of generic Benefiber to my coffee each morning to keep me from having these issues. Will I not be able to do this after surgery?

Had the same problem. I also had my gall bladder removed during the surgery, so I didn't know which was causing it. It lasted for a few months. I did start adding benefiber, but that wasn't until I was on solid foods. Just bear with it and think of all the fat that your body is metabolizing.

Yep! I did as sson as surgery was over and i thought i was experienceing dymping syndrome lol ,but thats just part of it.... It eventually stoped my bowels are much better now ,buuut sometimes i still have bouts and i can also get constipated a lot more once a week atleast so far

Hi, there. Long time no see. My loose stools only a cure after milk products so far. I still am having to make sure my food is moist or it feels like I have sand paper in my stomach. Not pleasant at all. Also I have been applying the scare cream we all purchased that week for one week now, I think it is working, redness of new scare is lessening. The only hard thing I have had to do thus far is feed others besides myself.
