Does anyone know if Verizon & ATT work in Tijuana?
For att, go online and add international. There are three service levels available. It will discontinue automatically after 30 days. You can do this online super easily. ( I do this every time I leave the US, and I travel internationally quite a bit for with. I select unlimited text and 200 minutes of calling. It works well.) Also, if you're on Wi-Fi, use what's app. Unlimited texting without using your days plan, perfect for when you're a hotel or any place with data and your phone is on airplane mode. Highly recommend.
Was there last month. We have Verizon. My wife added the Mexico plan for one month for $15 because the kids were at grandmas and we needed to be able to be reached. She did most of here communicating to family by way of wifi. She was able to use imessage from iphone to iphone via wifi without using cellular service. I dont have an iphone so we texted using facebook messenger over wifi. Some people use skype over wifi or just email. Both the hotel and the hospital had decent wifi so we were good to go. Looks like we have the same surgeon so good luck. My only other small piece of advise is to bring lots of ones and fives. You will probably want to go downtown at some point, we went before my surgery and after my surgery. You can pay with dollars but your change maybe pesos. Everyone takes US dollars. We took a cab to the revolution shopping center and it was $5 to get there and $5 to get back. Also there is a shopping center and a market a hand full of blocks away from the hotel. Anyways I have given you more information than you asked for sorry. Good luck on your surgery.
