    Default This is about sleeping...

I've tried to search the forums for this but couldn't find anything. I'm interested in what position is most comfortable to sleep in for the first week or 2 after surgery? I'm thinking raised head? Sleep in my recliner? would love to hear your experiences.

I slept in a recliner for a couple days and then in regular bed. Laying on my back, hurt sometimes when I would move around. The recliner
    was the most comfortable.
    Best of luck to you.

I slept on my side and stomach(!) in the hospital and continued to do so when I returned home. My "secret weapon" was a comfort revolution pillow sold by Costco and Amazon. It's very supportive and well, comfortable. I recommend it to everyone. (And no, I don't receive any remuneration for doing so.) Hope this helps!

    Take care.

Reclined for first 2days and then after that I slept on my right side with pillows around me for cushion. Your incisions are more on your left. I am 4days post op

I slept on a recliner couch for 2 weeks & could not sleep in my bed (always wanted to lay on belly and that wasn't going to happen). I am going on 3 weeks out and I can sleep on either side or belly just fine.

Girl sleeping was very challenging. I am a stomach sleeper and the 1st 5 days I slept in a reclyner leaned all the back. I had to get used to sleeping on my back and I was only sleeping for like 4 to 5 hours becauae I was not comfortable. I finally slept in my stomach on day 16. It was the best!

Well, it was a bit painful but I slept in my bed - it took a bit of delicate moving to get adjusted. Sat on the bed, tipped over onto my side slowly and lifted my legs and tucked them under the covers. I slept on my right side for a few days.

My usual, semi-recovery position, with a pillow wedged under my stomach and one under my upper leg, roll pillow under top of the foot that is pointing straight out.

It depends on you. I've slept in a bed on my side with no issues till last night. Acid reflux hit bad and I ended up in my recliner. Deff take acid reducer b4 bed. Gas x too.

I slept in my recliner, fully extended until the internal stitch (incision where the stomach was removed) didn't hurt anymore.

I don't have a recliner, so it was always the bed for me. I used my maternity wedge pillow and that really helped if I slept on my side. It honestly wasn't too bad though, and I'm a side sleeper.
