    Default TMI but..

I can't quit pooping. I started the liquid diet Sunday, and every single day, it's Diareah. is there anything I can do? Any medicine I can take? I've tried different protein drinks, it's better when I eat/drink slower, but this is making recovery difficult.

Nah, thats what i went through. I almost associate it with the shock of my body not having anything but liquids. After the surgery, they have us take maalox for the gas. Just saying.

Its only been a week. Are up on full liquids starting today? What are you eating? do you have a milk intolerance? if so you can work around it with using the powder and using almond or soy rather than milk. What are you drinking/eating? There may be a clue there. I don't know how much you weigh, but could it be the water flushing out all that waste in your body? Whey with fiber could help bulk your BM. Are you sick? If so, that might be contributing. Any fiber can bulk the stools. after another week of full liquids you can go to soft foods and less liquids. that should also help. If your skin is getting irritated, try tucks for hemmroids or aloe vera with lidocaine (for sunburns). This will resolve in a while. If not perhaps you should contact your surgeon's office to make sure nothing lose is going on. Note the number, color, consistence, explosive vs soft...these are things your doctor will need to along with the food diary to coordinate the food with what is happening, Maybe you could notice a trend.

Thanks for replies, I've been careful to avoid milk because I am lactose intolerant. I'm not sick. I weigh 320 now, on full liquids, start puréed diet a week from today. Hope that solves things.

I would call your doctor. You may become seriously dehydrated.

I had the same problem! Your system is in shock! It'll pass... No pun intended Just keep up the liquids so you don't dehydrate.
