    Default Cold

I am wondering if anyone else gets extremely cold with the weight loss. My hands get especially cold and takes a lot to get warm. My family can't seem to get over that I get so cold now. I am guessing that since I lost all of the insulation of fat is the reason why and just wanted to see if anyone else has the same problem.

I'm cold all the time. I have throw blankets all over the house. When we go out I wear two coats all the time just in case I need one on when we get to where we are going. But it is kindof exciting that I can wear tights, knee highs, sweaters and coats and not feel like that little bundled up kid on A Christmas Story.

Being cold is certainly different, but a small price to pay for the new smaller me.

Yes, I feel colder now. But that is a small price to pay for not being morbidly obese.
On the flip side, we won't feel as hot from the heat in the summer.

Animals carry a layer of blubber or fat to protect them from the elements.
I'll just put on sweater if needed.

Yes. It seemed worse in the beginning when I was losing rapidly, but even still, this year I keep my thermostat 5 degrees higher on average than before. Good news is, I tolerate the heat better too! One of the thing I noticed once the weather got warm was I can walk outside for an hour on an 85 degree day without coming home with a soaked pony tail!

Don't worry about hurting my feelings because I guarantee you not one bit of my self esteem is tied up in your acceptance.

I used to never wear sweaters, now I always have one handy.

That's ok though, I am so with Joe's comment on not sweating buckets this summer. I HATE summer. I can always put on more clothes, I can only take off so much before I get arrested.

My scale and I have a love/hate relationship:
it loves to tell me I'm fat; I hate & ignore that rude POS.

I am just over 3 years out...lost 95 lbs...and I have been cold from about the 2nd week! Amazing to me since I used to never wear a coat - even in the winter (in Utah) - and have been known to walk to the mailbox barefoot in the snow! Really makes you understand just how much fat "insulation" you were carrying around, huh?! My husband just laughs and says he never thought he'd see the day when I would say I was cold and would he snuggle to get me warm! Think of it this way...you can always put more clothes - socks, hats, gloves etc. on to get warm MUCH easier than not being able to take off enough (think naked) to get cool!

Uh huh, I'm cold too, these days. I have a fleece vest I wear around the house almost all the time - it keeps my core warm without feeling bulky.

My hands and feet are always cold and I have a space heater with a sweater and turtle neck on at all times too.On my feet I have heavy socks on. I agree that it is nice to wear nice sweaters but I rarely take off my jacket when I am out since I get so cold. My husband says my hands are like ice cubes.
