As my lap band insists on prolapsing on a regular basis, I had made the choice to revise to the sleeve. Took the insurance company less than two weeks to approve and my surgery date is set for the 26th of this month. The nerves are already setting in but I know this is the right choice for me. Preop, labs, a sleeve class, and surgery. To be banded nearly four years ago was much more time consuming (6 months worth).

Welcome. I am also a "recovering" LapBand survivor. Banded in 2003 and converted to sleeve this July.

Good luck lovely, it will all be good, I had the revision from band to sleeve, never lost hardly a thing with my band in 2 1/2 years... Turns out it was put on around my oesophagus instead!! So very lucky I had the revision... However, all went well, recovery is slightly longer with the revision, BUT, fabulous as it's just over a month and I'm 32lbs down already, u will be delighted with the difference, I have never been sick, drinking fluid is much easier than with a band, eating is easier than with a band... Everything is much better! My days with that band were torturous! Look forward to becoming slim again! Good luck xxx
