Default Hungry all the time , does this go away

    HI
On week 6 here and I am starving all the time. I am eating 1000 cals per day. I feel like I am on a flipping diet with this hunger.
It is not head hunger (I have that too but it is something I am aware of) but a real physical hunger. I eat then satisfied,,nearly full. In 2 hours I am starving again.
I am taking my antacid and water. I know that some hunger is thirst but this isn't the case. I am NOT drinking with meals.
I am disappointed in this part of the process.
I was eating more carbs because proteins weren't going down. But I have decided to eat 80% proteins as I know it keeps me full longer.
Did anyone else experience this? I am buying an indoor bike trainer (winter is here) and going to be going back to the gym but not sure how to do it with the hunger.
Thanks for anyone posting who can relate.

Protein is supposed to always be first anyways. You are having trouble with all protein? At your stage I was getting mine in with cottage cheese, cheese stick, high protein soups etc and of course the Jay Robb egg protein shakes. Good luck.

It stopped being first when it started coming up. I can tolerate it now.

It's completely normal at this stage. In the beginning, I ate a couple of ounces every 2-3 hours. Now that I'm out over a year, I can eat about 6-8 ounces at a time (sometimes more depending on what I'm eating) and I am satisfied until the next meal time. You are still healing and you need to keep fueling your metabolism more frequently. Don't stress about it. If you feel hunger, eat a little...always protein first.

I have the same problem, I eat then feel hungry in a few hours, I wake up in the middle of the night with my stomach hurting because I am hungry ( I do not eat anything-just pop a couple of antacids) I do have a hard time getting my fluids in I average 48-56 ounces on a good day. I figure I am peeing okay, 5-7 times a day so I seem to be getting enough fluids tho I know I need more, and I get 60-80 g of protein in so that isn't the issue. I hope that it goes away, I don't seem to get the head hunger, it is real physical tummy hunger, I can feel my stomach growling.

I'm in the same boat as you all. I am hungry almost all the time and I did not expect this post surgery. I'm taking my antacids but I don't think that is the problem. My surgeon did tell my coordinator that sometimes the Grehlin stays in the body longer and a person could be hungry for a while. I just hope this goes away! At night when I lay down to go to sleep, I'm hungry. When I wake up in the morning, the first sensation I feel is hunger. I'm eating greek yogurt right now but my stomach still feels hungry. It's a curse that never seems to go away but for about an hour or so after I eat.

I am experiencing this also. I try to down more water when I feel my strongest hunger pains or eat some raw almonds. I think the grehlin hormones wherever it was removed during surgery doubled up somewhere else. I also am very active so I think that contributes to the hunger.

Look at what types of food you are eating. Simple carbs will go through you much faster and signal hunger which is why we all got overweight in the first place. Make sure you are getting enough protein and enough fiber to help you stay fuller longer. Dehydration can make you feel hungry as well so make sure you are getting plenty of water.
My weight at start of my 2 week pre-op diet was 232
My weight on the morning of surgery was 221
