Dr. Macik will be doing my sleeve. Has anyone here had any experience with him (good or bad)?
No, but are you doing self-pay or going through insurance? As the popularity of the VSG increases, I wonder how much it costs out of pocket in the ATL area.
Rough, the first 2 weeks but after that it's been good. I feel better than I ever have. More energy well sometimes lol. The stomach acid is still there which is because we are only eating smaller portions so it has no where to go. But I take an over the counter medicine for it. Dr Macik is really good. I started seeing him in February my insurance requirements was a 6 months supervised diet with my pcp. I saw Macik every 4 to 6 weeks to make sure I wasn't gaining any weight before my surgery. Only thing if you take any advice about gas pains after surgery take it because that is awful. Recovering from surgery was easy if the gas pains where not there. Do you know what hospital you are having it done in? I went to Northside which is an amazing hospital. Their baricitic floor nurses are awesome some of the ones I had had the surgery. Good luck Kelly.
Dr. Macik did my sleeve last November so I'm almost one year out. He can seem like he isn't forth coming in providing information but he is more than willing to answer any question you have so just keep asking! My surgery was very successful and I had very little pain or gas. My incisions healed quickly and I can barely see the scars now. I would recommend him to everyone who asks! I followed his pre and post surgery diet 100% and followed all recommendations and believe that led to my quick recovery. Best of luck!
