Someone said to me that using straw could make your stomach full of gases because so much air will go in the stomach!! Is that correct ???

I use straws on occasion and never notice increased air intake. My take is that if it is uncomfortable or causes issues, don't do it. Otherwise, unless you are usi9ng them to slurp down dozens of milkshakes, I think you are fine.

What you have to remember is that it depends on how far out from surgery you are. First few weeks = no straw. After that it's ok.
I started using a straw a couple of days out when that was the only way I could get more liquids in. My choice seemed simple, I could either burp or get dehydrated. Burping won.
