Im having diarrhea 4 days post op

Yes, I had it from the day after I had surgery ,for almost a month. As for dehydration just make sure that you get in as much fluids as you can and you will be fine. In this heat try to up your fluid intake.

I had it too. I pinned it down to the whey Protein shakes with skim milk. I think I maybe slightly lactose intolerant... Anyway I switched to soy milk, kept the whey protein and it stopped. Hang in there it gets better.

I had it, also. It is very normal! Just pay attention to your fluid intake.

Thank goodness someone asked...I am a little over two weeks out and I have the same problem.....I think its time to go to the the store and buy some soy milk and give that a try.

I had it on the 4th day for two days and then it stopped. I put it down to the three day clear liquid diet I was on and then starting to eat soups.

I had the diarrhea and my doctor told me it could be the protien i was drinking. I changed brands and it went away. i hope that works for you too. Good luck.

Hmmm pretty much until you start eating real food... loose stools will be in your near future. With pre and post op liquid diets there really isn't anything real for us to pass thru our intestines. Just concentrate on getting your water in.

I am 29 days out eating mainly regular foods... soft ones, but pretty regular ones and I am having it all the time! I eat, I go... usually within an hour. In the morning I go 2-3 times. I attribute it to my galbladder being out. Its a bummer!

Eating soft foods produces, well, softer and more loose BMs than I care to have. I've switched to soy milk, too, but still have an issue. On top of that I know I"m not drinking enough, and am taking Lasix to boot! Therefore, I've supplemented my fluid with G2 Gatorade (it's lower calorie). Dehydration can be dangerous!
