Question How am I supposed to eat all this food?

I am 6 weeks out and saw my nutritionist on Thursday. She gave me the list of everything I can eat now. I told her that I still rarely eat 2oz of protein because I get too full. Now i am supposed to add in grains, veggies, and fruit. I asked her, and she said I might have to set it aside and just come back to it and that I will spend all day eating and drinking. Last night I tried to do that and I just felt FULL and a little sick. Maybe if I just take it really slowly? I don't want to graze all day, because that will set me up for bad habits in the future. Any tips, sleevers?

Water between meals is paramount. You can't metabolize fat without sufficient water.

After that protein comes first along with your vitamins. You need the protein to heal from surgery.

After that, do what you can...it'll come with time. Don't let it stress you out.

Im six months out. I try to get some protein in every three hrs or so. I add one fruit and one veggie every day, just not usually with my meals but snacks. My go to morning snack is apple and string cheese. For my veggie, I usually eat what Im cooking for the family about an hour or so before dinner as an afternoon snack. It will come, dont stress about it:-)

I'm four months out and still have not learned this particular balancing act. I'm not drinking enough water (I'm working on it), and my fruit intake is not what it used to be. I had these same concerns and my NUT said "do what you can." Don't stress over it.

I have a hard time with this as well. I am also in week six.
Lots of foods make me feel sick. I have no desire to eat foods and don't get in enough liquids.
I can eat pizza, but chicken or pork makes me vomit.
I can eat Mac & cheese, but not avocado.
I was able to eat an egg, but then that started making me sick too.

I couldn't eat that much at six weeks either. Ask your doctor. A nutritionist only knows about nutrition, not about the medical aspects of how much your stomach can take. She is not a doctor or surgeon. You shouldn't make yourself sick. Stick with protein first and foremost and don't worry about grains. I will eat a strawberry and couple of blackberries as a snack. I aim for 3 meals and two snacks which is what my doctor told me to aim for. I go for mostly protein. I seriously don't believe nutritionists should be advising sleeve patients until several months out after our stomachs have healed and relaxed a bit.
