    Default Thunder thighs

So I'm just a little over 4 months postop and I'm down just about 65 pounds. I still have a ways to go but I've been exercising like crazy, cardio and strength training with a trainer and I feel like my thunder thighs are just not disappearing or slimming down. I've even noticed that in terms of my clothes, I have not been as quick to go down in pants sizes and I'm sure this is the reason why.

Did anyone else go through this? What kinds of exercises should I be doing to address this? Or should I start thinking about plastic surgery?

It can take up to two years for your skins natural elasticity to tighten up any loose skin. The amount it tightens up has to do mainly with your age and how much excess you have. Save up for the plastic surgery, but give your body enough time to do as much of the repair work it can on it's own.

My thighs and butt were the first thing to go and they are still getting smaller. I do a lot of running on hills which I think attributed to that. I'm doing daily squats now to try and tone up those areas.
My weight at start of my 2 week pre-op diet was 232
My weight on the morning of surgery was 221

They will go down with continued weight loss, I'm sure!

It's weird how and where we lose our weight. Mine was kind of the opposite, I could tell my legs lost a lot of weight, but mostly the fat that was on them, so they looked ripped. Now if I could get that last 10 pounds off, maybe the rest of me would look that way. "Wrightone"....I say just stick with it and add resistance training if you're not already. We can't really spot lose our fat from chosen areas....short of surgery. But we can have SOME control over muscle weight and where we gain/lose it. Good luck!

I get it completely. I've lost 66 lbs so far and 75% of it has been from the waist up. I've lost around 17" from my waist but only like 6" from my hips. Not an awesome look!!!! I'm hoping it will even out a bit but I do know from when I was a teenager and only mildly plus size (haha) that my bottom 1/2 was always bigger than the top.

Personal opinion......nothing wrong with curvy hips and thighs.

Yes it largely depends on the gender and also our body type. If you are pear shaped by nature I can totally relate. I always remember loosing weight first from my upper body, my lower body responds much slower to both diet and vigorous excercise!! I ve always had that issue, even as a teenager or as a young adult and when dieting would show better results sooner without the need of surgery.

Google exercises to strengthen your quads and hamstrings. Leg presses and leg curls; Squats are good. Also, I ride my recumbent bike at a high resistance which works the thighs and calves more than a regular stationary bike. I've seen great results.

Also, I ride my recumbent bike at a high resistance which works the thighs and calves more than a regular stationary bike because you have to lift your legs higher. I've seen great results.

Not sure why it duplicated my post. Weird.

Don't discount simple ol' genetics... Sometimes Mother Nature just wants to make you work really, really, really hard for what you want.

    Hang in there, GF!
