I just checked my BMI and ... I have moved down into the "overweight" category. No longer obese!!!!
I started with a BMI of 43.4 and am now at 29.3.
This feels great!!!

I agree with you about the BMI charts. I think I would look like a stick at what is considered to be my "ideal" BMI too! Best not to pay too much attention to other's ideas of what is right for you. I know this and yet ... I still get a thrill out of reaching this point BMI-wise.
You know we have all had so much shame attached to our weight issues without really getting the needed help. I just want to feel comfortable and be able to move with ease and I can now see, with the help of the sleeve procedure, I am finally moving in that direction!

I also depends on which BMI chart you use. I was delighted when my used an internet BMI chart, it said my BMI was 27.1 and just inside the normal range. I can't remember the last time I was in the normal range. However when I spoke to the doctor he said I was still in the overweight range and needed to lose another 10lbs before I was in the normal range on his chart
I hate seeing the numbers on the scale and would like to try some different goals, such as:
The first time I can bend over and tie my shoes up without feeling like there is a giant beach ball on my chest.
The first time I can walk without my thighs rubbing.
Being able to walk for 30 mins without my feet hurting.
Not having the fat around my waist fall over the top of my pants.
Being able to wear a short sleeve shirt without the cellulite on my arms being so obvious.
Being able to jog for 30 mins without feeling like I am going to die or pass out.
Being able to wear sexy underwear for my husband.
