Default increased appetite and aching hips.

Its really weird and I guess i'm struggling to come to terms with the fact that i am no longer a fat woman, but try telling my brain that coz when i look in the mirror i still see a fatty looking back even though all my friends and family are amazed at how much better i look.
The other issue is that in the last few weeks my appetite has increased although still not big i wonder whether this is normal, i seem to get hungry about an hour after eating but admittedly i am full very quickly again. But i should be more active than i am after losing nearly 8 stone but i'm not and my hips are killing me. The hospital says its normal and that the body goes into shock after such a rapid weight loss and that it should be ok in about a year...well I hope it is...

Wow! You've lost 100 pounds!!!! Totally amazing. Our mental image and physical image are really two different things! Even at my biggest my mind told me that I wasn't as big as I was. I never liked to look in reflecting glass or mirrors below my neck! I knew I was very overweight but was in denial. Actually, I knew it but just didn't want to accept it. Even when we lose our weight it takes a long time for your mental image to catch up with our physical image. Good job!

I guess like most of us i get good and bad days. Sometimes it also depends on what clothes i'm wearing to how i feel. I still can't get over how much and how quickly i've lost the weight..Mind you it is funny when people I haven't seen for a while just walk right past me coz they don't recognize me.

I wonder if you took a pic of yourself now and put it next to one from before you started if it might seem more real? You are doing incredibly well. Be proud and wear it well!

Bursitis in your hips? I've had it in my shoulder, both elbows, and continually in my hips for about 5 years. I've done cortisone injections, which help, but it comes back after 3 months and eventually wears on the cartilage.

Cut back on your carbs and make sure your protein is up where it needs to be to stifle your appetite.

That's an excellent suggestion. I found a pic of me before surgery (about 2 years ago) and held it next to a current pic. OMG! It's hard to notice just looking in the mirror, but you can't deny side by side proof. I've went down 5 sizes, but still have those "I feel fat days". I noticed lately though, I move around faster, to the point that I am bumping into doorways and walls. We have spent so much time in "the other body", it's hard to get used to our new ones.
