    Unhappy How pathetic am I?

Wednesday will be my 2 week sleeviversary. I am SO SO SO SO tired of drinking protein shakes, eating jello and popsicles. This weekend I had a breakdown. My husband and I were driving in the car and I literally CRIED because I miss eating. We were at the casino yesterday and I saw a man eating a BLT and all I could think was "WOW, that bacon looks so yummy! I want some bacon!" I told my husband that I am questioning getting the sleeve. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to eat and I miss eating SO SO SO much ... I know, how pathetic am I?

Today, I did break down and make some tuna salad because I just couldn't finish my protein shake I HAD to have something else! My 2 week post-op appointment isn't until Thursday - how pathetic am I that I couldn't wait until then??

You are NOT pathetic, you're human. A little tuna won't killya if you put it in the food processor & chew, chew, chew. Try different shakes...They can be exciting and it is the best form of protein + liquid, to boot. Nik's got some great recipes... http://bariatricfoodie.blogspot.com/...tric+Foodie%29

You are not alone, I was sleeved on March 21st 2011 and I still at times have a break down because I can't eat as much as I want to eat. It is hard but something you will get use to. Remember the time line they give you to get back to solids is a general guideline, my Dr let me move to solids quicker, it really is what your body can handle.

Oh Kelly, you're not pathetic, sweetie... Not at all. This lifestyle change is HARD. I cringe anytime I hear anyone say that this is "taking the easy way out". This is easy?! I didn't notice.

I know how you feel. Just last night I was thinking how much joy eating gives me, and how much happiness I get out of sitting down in front of massive quantities of food and tearing it up. I'm with you... I love food, and I love eating. But - it was slowly killing me, and it was killing my chance at heaving a healthy pregnancy in the future.

You're gonna be fine, friend. Just hang in there, and keep your eye on the prize. Know that it won't be like this forever.

I think once you are eating regular food, you will find that you don't miss it. I no longer care about food. I eat lunch because I am hungry and have to and dinner is the same. The best part - I don't crave anything 6 weeks out. Just allow yourself this one slip up and get back on track. You will find that it gets easier once you are on regular food as scheduled. Good luck!

Hang in there, it does get different once you start eating regular food, I make jokes about how little i eat with people at work and and home 1 BBQ chicken wing and a small spoonfull of Mac and cheese are you kidding me too cool. Took me as long to eat that as it did for my wife to eat a complete Ribeye. The only one that seems to notice is my dog of course that is because he gets whatever i dont eat lol. Hes like YAY!!!! Daddys eating yummy yummy yummy lol

There are times when I think I can eat, eat, eat only to order something and then have most of it left over. My dog benefits from all of this extra food also. Today I wanted fish, so off to Luby's I go for a Luann(1/2 portion of entree and two veggies), now most of it is sitting in the frig for a later time. You will find foods that you will be able to enjoy more of, just be careful of carbs.
