hello. I am scheduled for the sleeve at Madigan Army Hosp on the 19th of Feb. Nervous. to say the least. I am 62 and will retire at the end of this month. Have been married to my best bud for 45 years this yr. Have 3 boys and 8 grandchildren. Busy life. But my weight has played havoc with me. especially the last few yrs. I am diabetic and currently take four shots a day. A1C is about 8. Back pain is constant. I am looking to take some time to take care of myself. Been very involved with family over the yrs. I want a second chance to enjoy my special traveling yrs. Have some fun. Make a difference. oh and HAVE SOME FUN. and choose to be HEALTHY.

Good for you! I know all too well about that back pain. I can't even grocery shop without leaning on the buggy, because the lower back pain is so bad. I wish you the best, and a speedy recovery too!!

You are on the right track in my opinion. I'm 58 and my sleeve has added years to my life. Don't hesitate to post any questions you have to this forum. You will receive tons of information and support in return.

I'm there too. @ 59 i take 3 BP medicins, I have arthritis, burcitis, fibromyalgia, and post herpetic neuragia from a nasty case of shingles. Another year and I'd probably be diabetic also-my numbers are on the edge) Not so fun getting old like this huh! Time to take back our lives. I'm 19 day from surgery. Good luck to you. I was sleeved at age 61 and now am 63...feel wonderful and lost 97 pounds - I am happier than I have ever been and wish you the best!!!
