    Default Big Question

I have my last weigh in next week Monday - I have been on partial liquid but after my last weigh in Can I have a LAST MEAL?

I will go directly back to the liquids the next morning. I am excercising like crazy and I have lost the 10% the insurance has required.

Please help. I miss the crunching sensation and would like to have a last meal. Has anyone else felt this way?

I say do it! I was cash pay and did not have to lose any weight before surgery, my doctor had given me a pre-surgical diet but it was lean and green, not liquid. I pretty much ignored that (I was very naughty) and I ate everything, I considered every meal my "last supper", I even ate at Applebees the day before surgery. At this point, i eat whatever i want and am losing at a perfect pace for me. I know that I may get scolded for saying that but I am a bit of a rebel!

    Hi Kimberly,
We have the same surgery date
I cannot see how one meal would hurt a thing especially this far away. If it is next Mon night, you still have 2 wks before surgery. I plan to go to my fav restaurant and get prime rib this weekend. I'll only have 3 or 4 oz and take the rest home for hubby to munch on, but I just know it will torture me if I don't taste it one last time for the next 9 mo or so.
Just don't be surprised if you eat greasy stuff if it makes you feel icky.
We went over the whole last meal thing Wed night at my psych meeting. Doc said to try to not think of it that way. Eventually you can eat almost anything you had before, just smaller portions... I said tell that to my taste buds
I vote go for it in moderation.
Best NSV - fitting on a kid's amusement park ride with my 4 yr old grandson!
CFIDS =Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Also dx with post-bariatric reactive hypoglycemia; and chronic gastritis (both sleeve complications). Permanently disabled.
Start weight 335, down to 218, up during gastritis. Have accepted there is no way to lose it with my hypoglycemia. Current weight 260. Currently doing 10 day sleeve reset and determined to get back down to my post surgical weight or close to it.

I would tell you that I followed my docs instructions to the letter. I wanted to prove to myself that I had the discipline to do what I needed to do after surgery. There is no reason to take chances with something that is so important. I did not have most of my stomach removed to cheat my way thru to a disappointing result.

If your surgery is weeks away I cannot see the real harm, although, if you are two weeks before surgery I would discourage it as you need to adhere to your pre-surgical diet as it helps the doctor during your surgery as well as determining your discomfort after surgery and during your recovery. This was made clear to me from a surgeon's medical staff.
    Starting weight: 255
    Pre-op weight: 228
